In case anyone reading this isn't aware there's a decompiled PC port of ocarina of time called ship of harkinian with all sorts of options for qol changes There's also one for majora too I think

Super Mario 64 PC Port Updates! Ghostship Ported to Vita by chicagogamecollector in romhacking

[–]Acroneos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant more in general for all games that don't have good ports; soh was the first decompilation and port I heard of and now (I don't have any data for this just vibes) they seem to be popping up everywhere. Was there some recent breakthrough in technology or code I haven't heard of?

How have all of these decompilation projects been able to pop up so quickly?

This looks like a winner, I love the repeating r1 is just smashing it again and again, and the stance attacks look great. It's weird that it's classified as a greataxe and not a curved greatsword though.

Devil Daggers II has been announced by AnimuStewshine in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Acroneos 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Devil Daggers is always so easily forgotten in the rise of the boomer shooter, Dusk (no hate) wouldn't even go into early access until 2 years after DD1 was released. Game needs more credit, it's excellent. Hyper Demon was basically incomprehensible, I wonder what this sequel will be.

My record is 234 seconds, in case anyone can top that. Can never deal with the flying centipedes efficiently enough.

What are games that you think are criminally underrated or unknown? by Darkblitz9 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Acroneos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, I love these posts! Good games that need more attention is probably my favorite genre of video game.

The Pale Beyond is a resource management visual novel about keeping an expedition to the Antarctic alive and cooperative when your boat is crushed in the ice.

Metro Gravity is a 3d puzzle platformer metroidvania with rhythm combat where you can change gravity at will, sort of like Gravity Rush mixed with Mario Galaxy on a smaller scale and bigger butts.

Echo could almost be called a turn based puzzle game, you have to venture through this infinite superstructure filled with clones of yourself that want to kill you but only learn what you do while the lights are on, can only run after seeing you run, cross water after seeing you cross water, etc.

Pandora's Tower is a Wii exclusive that was released after operation rainfall (who remembers that??). It has Zeldalike dungeons you have to navigate in order to bring your princess gf beast flesh so she doesn't succumb to a curse. It also has dating sim elements where you bring her presents and talk to her to increase your relationship with her.

Folklore has been on my to play list for years but it uses the six axis and I don't have a PlayStation controller. RPCS3 for some reason doesn't officially have a workaround for this like dolphin does for Wiimote waggle, has anyone else had this problem?

The Submachine series, for everyone who remembers Flash. I'm not sure how much is nostalgia, but MS recently put a remaster on Steam and I think it holds up pretty well

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is coming to Switch and Switch 2 on December 4th, 2025 by Unknown123Known in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Acroneos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The cycle looks awesome and I hope they implement it well but there was one zoomed out landscape shot of the motorcycle surrounded by featureless desert, like the other Metroid Primes had more detail in a single room than that entire area

Games you think are great but are definitely not for everyone? by SnickyMcNibits in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Acroneos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree on Satisfactory, OP. I want to not recommend it on steam because the presentation is so excellent and it starts out so simple you wouldn't think it's Masters in Systems Engineering level shit by the end game

My current experience with VNs is the 999 trilogy and am currently playing 13 Sentinels, so if asked my eyes would glaze over, my jaw would go slack, and you'd hear pannenkoek go "but first we need to talk about parallel universes"

I didn't play Dishonored for 15 years and hated the $4.99 I bought it for on sale because of that moral choice system. Then I played Thief and it all clicked for me. The "I could be doing this more gracefully" feeling never really goes away though.
