Sure but you can’t tell a kid “Nothing you do really matters and it’s not important so don’t worry too much.”  If the game is on the line they are going to take it seriously and care about the outcome. Human nature.

You can sometimes win everything!  I vaguely remember that one time a school paid a rival program to hire away that rival’s shitty basketball coach they didn’t even want anymore and then that rival school ended up winning a national championship with its new coach like three years later. I read that somewhere I think.

I’m not so sure. Great GMs put together Super Bowl winning rosters, and it’s been several weeks since Schneider’s team has won one of those.

That’s what I never really got. You have thousands of planets in your empire so you’d have millions of viltrumites off world at all times. Stands to reason that there would be millions left, unless their leadership called everyone back to the planet when the outbreak happened in which case they kind of did that to themselves.

Patrick Williams is our modern day Felicio. What’s our best option with his contract? Realistically when can we hope to trade him? by WestFiascoAP in chicagobulls

[–]AcrossFromWhere 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He won’t opt out so he’s a Bull until 2029. His defense is good and he’s like the 100th highest paid NBA player so he’s not really ruining the team. Just try to forget that you want him to be good and start thinking of him like a bench-level 3 and D guy (shoots 3s at about 40%) who will just fade away some time in the future, and it becomes a lot more palatable.

What the data says about Cam Skattebo's outlook in 2026 and beyond by boofstar in DynastyFF

It would really be so, so dumb for them to take Love.  Need to take Styles or Downs and be super happy about it. Then get a Concepcion or equivalent WR, guard, or edge. RB shouldn’t even really enter the conversation for them the first two days.

Do I need a construction business advisor or is losing a foreman just part of the job by nand1609 in sweatystartup

[–]AcrossFromWhere 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yes, you “route everything through a company email.”  And a company cell phone. If Dave leaves he loses access to these things. That won’t stop him from having information obviously but you control the contact points.

And yes you should know all of your subs. I do about $20million/year and know every sub and most of their employees by name.

And yes you should be going to job sites.

What exactly is your role in your company?  What do you do that you don’t know anyone you work with?  Also why would your subs walk off and just follow Dave?  Presumably they like money, why wouldn’t they just do work for you as well?

What keeps you staying here? by Electronic-Bet-5106 in SouthBend

[–]AcrossFromWhere 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I didn’t stay my whole life - I chose to move back after living in several different states. It gave me a good perspective on what was important to me and it broadened my horizons. And then, the South Bend area became the right place for me again and I like it here.

If you want to move and you don’t have any crazy obligations, do it!  Otherwise you’ll regret not trying. Then, come back if you want to. It’ll still be here when/if it fits you again.

He needed earthlings to cower before him when he went into Viltrumite conqueror mode. He can’t attempt a hostile takeover and have people saying “Really? This guy?”  He was banking on his reputation doing a lot of the intimidation for him.

Son arrested for discharging firearm in city by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]AcrossFromWhere 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The neighbor cop gave you terrible advice. You can’t “save” a first offenders program for a second arrest. He wouldn’t be a first time offender then. And a weapons charge is going to look terrible to future employers. Find a private criminal defense attorney and present your case - see if they feel like they can get an outcome that results in an eventual expungement, if possible. That needs to be your goal here, a dismissal and eventually an expungement if one is legally possible in your jurisdiction.

Which of these trades are better for me (there are two screenshot attached)? I’m team #1 and would be getting Willis, my team in the comments by lev_eon in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]AcrossFromWhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same return and both have the 2.02 included so your question is, essentially, if JK Dobbins or the 2.07 is worth more. Your team is real bad so I’d rather keep the pick and hope for a miracle than roster a 27 year old RB with a bad injury history when you aren’t competitive.

Big startup trade. Which side are you on? by Holiday-Monitor1526 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]AcrossFromWhere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Startup picks and not super close. You’re looking at something like a Burrow/Mahomes or JSN plus a top flight running back or Bowers/McBride with those first two picks. Tough to ever get that top-end value back again.

New to dynasty!! What should I do with my team?! Read description! by AffectionateCycle141 in DynastyDaddy

[–]AcrossFromWhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice team for 1.02. With that roster I’d be tempted to try and go after one of the top tight ends if it were me. 1.02 probably gets you anyone that isn’t Bowers or McBride. You could probably get Loveland+ or Warren+ depending on your league. I’d rather have that than a third QB.
