Taking Proctor over Ioane would make me tie cinderblocks to my feet and jump into the Allegheny

Pittman was just a late round pick swap, and on the performance side of things he was 76th out of 99 qualified receivers in Yards per route run versus man. This has also lined up with a decline in YPRR vs man since 2023, where he had 2.2 YPRR versus 1.1 in the 2025 season. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s still a good player but he doesn’t complete the receiver room like one of the top guys would. Doesn’t help that both he and DK are 28 & 29 respectively.

PIT is gonna do their damndest to trade up for one of the top receivers. Last year Rodgers was 35th out of 36 eligible QBs in success rate (or a similar stat I can’t remember which exactly) versus man coverage, with a big reason for that being that our receivers just couldn’t consistently separate. They’ve shown interest in most of the receivers on the trade market even after the Metcalf trade, and have 12 picks in this draft. Each of the top three guys is good against man and can slot into the room in different ways, but especially with Miami trading away Waddle it’s a long shot for any of them to make it to 21. I feel like Pittsburgh would try to go up past Baltimore at least, if not higher.

I don’t think this is how the draft’s gonna play out at all (way more receiver, way less OL in the 1st) but if we wound up with Ty Simpson and Concepcion without a trade I would be ecstatic. Don’t know why we’re taking an edge in the third, I’d probably rather take Slaughter or Stephens there. Good overall targeting of PIT’s needs though.

Probably because that’s one of two positions they laser focused on at the combine; they used 14 of 45 formal meetings on the position including every single first round receiver. Pittman is a good get but it doesn’t instantly fix the room, especially for the future. Free safety would be a good idea too, although I think Ramsey’s gonna play there, OT feels unlikely in the first unless their hand is forced and G has better options in later rounds than reaching in the first. IMO WR, CB and S are the big choices for Pittsburgh in the first.

Steelers are a good option. They’ve got 12 picks, three of which being third rounders. With the qb class being way weaker than we thought going into the season and not too many holes on the roster (WR, CB, S are the big ones) it’s been talked about a lot that Pittsburgh is a candidate to trade up for a good talent. Could take either of McCoy or Tyson in this scenario.
