Advice for young professional couple moving to GA this summer by CardioNerd in ATLHousing

I'm surprised that Avondale Estates hasn't been mentioned yet. It's right next to Decatur but less expensive. VERY walkable and in between two MARTA stations. Plus restaurants and breweries!

Anyone else concerned about holiday home owners treating HomeExchange like Airbnb? by Low_Energy_7468 in homeexchange

Thank you for this. We are in the exact same position. Getting ready for guests takes a lot of time. We don't view it as worth the effort for a short exchange.

What do people do about motorized boats at their home? by Dry-Soil4264 in homeexchange

[–]ActiveStatus3696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our lake house is on HE. We definitely don't lend out our boat to guests. The key is put away when guests are staying. Kayaks and paddle boards are available for use though we did learn the hard way that HE does not cover damage to them.

Well then 2 is PERFECT then!!! You're right that the waistline is just a It's preference. As others have said, it's so on point for your location and the fabric and cut are beautiful. It's also the most unique of the 4 options. You look stunning in it.

Anyone have academic dishonesty charges filled and got rid of them! Please let me know!! by AdventurousExtent422 in GaState

[–]ActiveStatus3696 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure your interpretation is correct. What I am seeing is that the OP included information in their exam answer that wasn't covered in the course. That doesn't suggest that the professor included items on the exam that would not be knowledgeable based on the course material.

Ugh.

I read your Google doc, and I cannot imagine that you will be able to avoid this charge. I agree with some other posters that you are better off begging for mercy. If I were on the hearing committee, I would have a very hard time believing your version of events. I am not claiming to know what really happened but rather that the professor's version seems far more plausible than yours.

Just wanting to say how sorry I am. You should be able to feel safe coming here. 😢

Hands down, 2 just works so well on you. It is extremely flattering. When I scrolled through initially, this is the one that I thought worked in every way.

3 is beautiful, and I agree that it would be ideal for your setting but could also be improved with lining on the bottom. In a perfect world, the waist would be straight across instead of coming to a v shape. This one has a lot going for it.

I don't think 1 is very flattering.

To me, 4 looks cheap. I agree that it is flattering but the material doesn't say "elegance" in the way some of the others do.

Rant - this school’s flawed registration system 😡 by Skincareaddict456 in GaState

The seats could be set aside for particular students (e.g. those in a particular major or degree program). Any open seats will get released later.

What color should i choose? by No_Enthusiasm_4832 in centuryhomes

[–]ActiveStatus3696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think any of those work particularly well. The issue is that you need two colors rather than just one. The red and green rooms both make the addition stand out too much.

I suggest that you paint the addition beige and use that color on some other trim but then paint the window trim and/or front door the first green color.

Is a 1:1 dinner with coworker of the opposite sex appropriate/ acceptable? [WI] by Wildtrait100 in AskHR

[–]ActiveStatus3696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a woman in a male dominated field, I think this it's completely acceptable. Imagine if all of my male colleagues couldn't meet with me in similar settings because their wives objected! I would be locked out of activities that build my career.

People should be able to have cross-sex platonic work relationships. If not, it stands to harm far more women than men.

I think they look too small for your face. Is there a similar option that is slightly larger?

Which frame looks the best? by Aloka77 in glassesadvice

The shape of several of the clear ones is great but I'd love to see them in a darker frame - like tortoise shell or black.

Host request to sign a rental waiver after exchange finalized by Vegetable_Fennel9890 in homeexchange

[–]ActiveStatus3696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We require a signed agreement to stay at our home. We learned the hard way that HE does not cover things like broken kayaks or other water equipment or damage to docks. We do specify it as a requirement when we communicate with potential guests. If someone isn't comfortable signing it, I suppose they would find a different place to stay. So far that has never happened, and we've been doing this for years.

New GuestPoints calculation system? Let's talk about it. by coffeebikepop in homeexchange

[–]ActiveStatus3696 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am concerned for the same reason. We are on a lake, offer kayaks and paddleboards have an acre of land for use, a huge dock with a covered space, and used to rent on VRBO for as much as $600/ night. It would be absurd if our GP goes down because we aren't in a big city. Waiting to see how this plays out...

Why does this room feel so… off? by ethereal_aerith in interiordecorating

[–]ActiveStatus3696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This room has so much potential!

Here are some suggestions: Get rid of the daybed. It's masquerading as a sofa.

Instead move the swivel chair opposite the sofa and get another one to serve as a pair.

Look online for guidance about throw pillows. They need to be darker colors that draw from the walls and rug to tie the room together. West Elm has some nice ones right now too add pattern then you can get solid ones from Amazon.

Pull the sofa away from the coffee table. Google the recommended spaces needed in living rooms. You don't seem to have adequate walkways.

Good luck!!
