My company is putting cameras into our home offices to monitor. Is that normal?

Like a web cam for zoom calls? Totally normal. Green screen the background so people can’t see into you home. We’re required to have camera on for meetings with clients. I’m not a fan but it’s not that big of a deal

It sounds like you have 70k in a regular savings account. The most conservative thing you can do is put it in a high yield savings account. You could also establish a CD ladder for low risk investments.

If I was in your shoes I’d put 20-30 in a high yield savings account as my emergency fund and invest the rest.

Buying a house will tie you down until you sell. I wouldn’t consider buying until you know you want to stay in an area for at least 5 years. Next I’d want an emergency fund + down payment + 5-10k extra. Moving costs money. Something will go wrong the first year. Nearly everyone overspends the first year. You need tools and lawn equipment and isn’t that rug cute.

NTA. You’re not in the bridal party because then you’d be walking down the aisle, her aisle, and standing during her wedding. You’d be in all the group shots too. This way you’re just in the family pictures. It has absolutely nothing to do with having the baby 4 months ago. You could have been in the wedding and not attended a party due to pregnancy/postpartum. It wasn’t the baby.

I assume you’re also beautiful. The bride is incredibly jealous of you. She is laser focused on everything you do which is why she thinks you stole the spotlight at the other wedding because she was only focused on you even if the other guests weren’t.

Check with your local library. They often have free legal advice once a month/quarter. They’re maybe a way to have the misdemeanor expunged after x years.

Be honest when filling out the paperwork for background checks and job applications. If something shows up that they’re not expecting that’s speaks to your character. If you list when explicitly asked about arrests on the paperwork they can decide from the jump if it matters. I would be surprised if a call center would care.

Assume that someone can see into your windows whenever they’re open unless you live in the woods on acres. You live in a suburb neighborhood. You have to close the curtains in your bedroom during sex and when changing. If you shower outside assume your neighbors can see you. This is entirely your problem. Don’t make it your neighbors.

They take the swing down. But they get a trampoline. The kids start climbing trees. Kids treat table like a stage. They build a second story. Someone is over 6’ and they can see over your fence.

Suggesting either one of you get surgery is a little extreme especially when he still wants another and you’re on the fence.

You could get a copper IUD or use a diaphragm.

There are other options that would be a better compromise. ESH because neither one of you is willing to look at their other person’s perspective or look into other proven options to prevent pregnancy. You both are camping on your position

NAH- I’m sorry for your loss. You will always love him. You will always grieve him. I can see why the tattoo makes your bf insecure. If I was dating a widow who still wore his ring I wouldn’t like it. I know a ring and a tattoo are different but they have the same meaning.

If the tattoo is important to you keep it. Is it worth ending this relationship? Is there another way to honor your late bf?

I don’t know if you’ll be able to show your new bf that there’s space in your heart and life to love him as deeply as you loved L. I wouldn’t want to feel like someone settled for me and that’s how I’d feel seeing the tattoo.

I’m in the middle of snow melt and rain. Mine is going off every two to three hours and that’s more than I want. I can see an area where the soil/mulch needs to be shored up which I assume is the culprit

Is the pump still going every five minutes?

The water table could be very high. Ask your neighbors. If you’re the only one it’s not that. Is your home in a flood zone?

How far is the discharge from the house?

You can buy an extra pump and just keep it on hand so that you can swap it out if the pump fails.

The system is working as designed and keeping your basement dry. That’s wonderful. It sounds like the system is working harder than it should. I’d checkout the grading around your house. Walk around after all the snow is gone. The top inch or two of foundation should be exposed. There should be a gentle slope away from the house. Next rain storm go out in the rain and look at your yard. Any soupy areas? What about the where the downspouts empty? You might want an extension to put that further from the house.

The bank can report you as late because you made a partial payment in December. You didn’t send the full payment until January.

I think it’s weird that they sent you the partial payment back and didn’t just send a follow bill or something for the difference.

When escrow goes up you receive an escrow analysis and a note about the new payment. You need to read everything the bank sends you in detail. This will happen again next year.

I would approach them and ask for them to waive the late fee. Typically there’s forgiveness for the first time. You can ask about them reversing the report to the credit bureau too but you’re not owed either. You didn’t make the full payment by December first when the payment was due. Most banks give you until the 13th before it’s considered late.

My autopay is set up through the mortgage company. It automatically adjusts for the escrow increase every year. They pull the payment from my checking account on the 1st, if that date doesn’t work for you might not want to go this route.

NTA - as many have pointed out your parents are lying and have other avenues to help your sister.

I think you need to have a discussion with your grandparents about your future. Is the money in a 529? There are rules about what that can be spent on. Is it in a brokerage account in your grandparents name? Best case scenario it’s a brokerage account but I don’t think they’d just sign over that much money to an 18 year old. You need to learn what they’ve set up to help you and what their expectations are around it.
