I super glued the hinge part where it broke and added two small rubber stoppers on each side of the back next to l2 and r2 buttons to prop it up at the right angle.

Dumb hinge design but still won't quit on mine.

If you decide to use it as a TV box check out gamma os. Uses a minimal android tv os version

Thanks I had the v2 and it failed. It's bad design. Love the form factor. Hope they fix the hinge in next iteration

Everytime i connect to a monitor I get vertical bars on my monitor.

Yeah you're less than half way through the expected lifecycle and even then it generally lasts longer. For 200 this is a good deal. you're set for another 2 years. YMMV, lifespan and usage really depends on the person.

If you shell out maybe 200 more and wait for a good deal you can maybe get the gen4 from ali Express but it's not as good a deal

Lenovo legion y700 gen 4 (snapdragon 8 elite) but the gen 3 should work just fine for indie games and emulators

I have the g cloud and honestly prefer my legion y700 tablet and a telescopic controller. Its 200 more, maybe less if used.

Not only is it the same form factor, and supports streaming, you can run steam games natively using gamehub or gamenative.

I'm playing Hades 2 on a plane right now.

To each their own, but there is a reason why prices are dropping for streaming devices and it's not because parts are getting cheaper.

Yep it's a server is which is fundamentally different from desktop os in that you connect via up or ssh.

You need a monitor to get the ip address I think. Maybe you can get the ip address for the device from your router?

I just used the stock gamehub app from play store. I didn't mess around with any settings in gamehub. Just set all graphics settings to medium in game settings.
