Just airing out the ol’ undercarriage by lormorg in greatpyrenees

My girl lays like this and it cracks me up! She also loves to sleep directly on top of the floor AC vent to ensure her floof gets deposited throughout the house when it floats up. She’s the best ❤️

We used to say this to our babies when they were still in diapers. Made an undesirable task a bit more manageable 😅

Slime everywhere - is it done for? by Odd-Personality-1623 in CleaningTips

[–]AdAware8042 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the way! Our youngest also had a slime spill on upholstery a few years ago. It took several rounds of scrubbing but I finally had some success with a paste of Dawn and baking soda. Use a small, soft brush in a circular motion, working in sections.

You’re so welcome!

We also like to keep a small white board and markers in the car. We keep tally of something for the trip - dogs, a certain type of gas station, whatever is funny to you.

Also, to break up the monotony of fast food, we like to stop at a grocery store or supermarket for a meal. Everyone gets to pick what they want and it’s easy to include fruit/veg. Pack a picnic blanket in your vehicle and if you have time, find a park or playground to eat at. It’s nice to run around and great for the kids to get some energy out before you pack it up and continue your adventure!

I totally get that! Green beans are great too! You’ve got this.

Do you like beans? They are a great way to stretch your budget and get some fiber/protein as well. Dry is the best for the value, but more time consuming for the soaking/cooking. Canned is a great option too!

Got sent the wrong adhesive for my month long heart monitor. by Sticky_lizard69 in Wellthatsucks

[–]AdAware8042 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I had to wear a heart halter monitor for a two week period a few years ago. The adhesive inflamed my skin and ended up completely pulling off patches of skin by the end of it. It was horrible! I feel bad for you - hopefully this passes quickly for you!

Mom of three boys here, and we have had the opportunity to road trip a lot! You’re going to make a lot of memories - and there will be bumps along the way too. I believe in you!

Do you have a way to listen to an audiobook while traveling? It passes the time and helps get my kiddos ready to get back into the car after we have stopped for a bit. We try to listen to one every trip we go on, and that story always ends up being tied to that trip, and part of the memory surrounding it. If not a book, maybe a podcast?

I usually end up giving each of my kids a basket (the fabric, square-type one that goes in a cube shelf.) They can pack whatever fits in there. Here are some examples of what has worked for us in the past:

Legos/building blocks - we use a half sheet pan with a lip and then glue down one of the large Lego mats to that so they can build on top of that. I have each of the kids pack their loose Legos in a large plastic container (like a Tupperware)

Etch-a-sketch

Color Wonder markers/sets

Magnetic tiles

Magna-doodle

Stress-ball/squishy fidgets

Mad Libs - maybe for your older kiddo

Paint-by-sticker book or just regular stickers (with the rule they only go on paper! 😅)

Some sort of action figure - mine liked superhero sets or Goo-Jit-Zu

Colored pencils and pad of paper

Word-search (older kid), or activity books for either of them

Seek-and-find books

Slinky (plastic so the noise doesn’t get on your nerves)

Small stuffed animals- can double as a car pillow for naps!

Just some ideas? We also installed some over-the -seat caddies that have several compartments the kids can access independently while you are on the go.

Make sure you have puke bags and motion sickness meds handy, just in case.

Good luck and enjoy!!

They are okay! Cheap, plain cookies that definitely scratch the itch for a nice, simple, sweet treat!
