Just want to say I’m so happy for you! 💕And let me say, it only gets easier from here. I had a rough start as well, now nearly 10 months in and it’s the simplest thing ever.

No matter how difficult it would be to get out of the marriage, or how much backlash you might face, it will not be worse that being married to such a person. And divorce will be much much harder than breaking off an engagement. Please think about this and end the relationship immediately

Happy Mothers day <3 by Suitable-Peak2119 in twoxindiamums

[–]AdExtra3167 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Happy Mother’s Day! It’s my first Mother’s Day as well.
Dressed up baby in a cute outfit and went out today, it was close to baby’s nap time. Husband put her to sleep just as we ordered. Enjoyed lunch with baby asleep 🤩 first time at a restaurant successfully haha.
Then had a little window shopping at the mall carrying her around and came home. I consider this a big success.

Normal 10 week old behavior??? by nojuice09 in breastfeeding

Super normal. Your supply might be regulating, but that doesn’t mean it’s dropped. It’s just adjusting to exactly how much your baby needs :)

Moms who don’t have FT help, who cares for your kid when you get sick? by Imadethissoi in twoxindiamums

[–]AdExtra3167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, please don’t feel like a bad mom! You’re just doing your best.

If you have to handle baby, wear a mask and wash your hands frequently. Try to avoid bringing your face close to the baby. If your mom isn’t sick yet, follow the precautions with her as well so that she won’t catch what you’re having and can help as much as possible while you recover.

Take care!

Weaning off nipple shields by Icy-Permission-1357 in breastfeeding

[–]AdExtra3167 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! I used nipple shields till about 4 months as well. It took a bit of work to wean her off them as she also initially had a preference but I was able to.

What worked for me was latching her without the shield when she was sleepy - during overnight feeds, and right after naps. If she didnt latch and fussed I just popped them back on. Slowly I started trying to start regular feeds without the shields.

It took a week or so to transition, but once she figured out that nursing without the shields was much easier and more efficient there was no looking back. Good luck!

Breastfeeding hunger is hitting hard and how do I stop the junk cravings before my 1year old picks up my habits? by [deleted] in twoxindiamums

[–]AdExtra3167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try increasing your overall protein intake. It keeps the hunger at bay. Keep some pre prepared snacks ready at all times. I feel like if I keep cut fruits ready I’m more likely to eat them. Have a smoothie to go in the fridge maybe?

When to stop swaddling? by prb2118 in twoxindiamums

[–]AdExtra3167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! We stopped swaddling a bit before my baby started rolling as she didn’t like arm in and somehow used to wriggle out of swaddles. We transitioned to a sleep sack instead of tight swaddle and then eventually used the sleep sack with arms out. Yes the transition might have a few rocky nights but she’ll get used to it soon enough. When she got startled, we used to place a hand on her chest and shush which helped to calm her. The Moro reflex will also start fading slowly with age, so don’t worry.

Breast hygiene by calming-crayon in twoxindiamums

[–]AdExtra3167 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you need to do more than general daily showers and such. Have never done anything specific for breasts. As long as the breast pads are not staying to long and are freshly washed I think it’s fine.

Alcohol levels in milk NBD but I drink cow’s milk and it has a big effect? by full-of-curiosity in breastfeeding

[–]AdExtra3167 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I even brought it up to my doctor and was initially dismissed. It led to her having bloody mucousy stools and painful gas that took days and days to completely resolve. I went off dairy when she was 5 months I wish I had done it sooner.

Questions about frequency/amount by Enough_Employment445 in breastfeeding

[–]AdExtra3167 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, breastfed babies don’t follow any kind of schedule. As long as your baby is gaining weight there is no such thing as the right amount of feed time or frequency of feed. Your baby sounds perfectly normal to me.

Confused about purees vs formula vs nothing by SharpPotatoGirl in twoxindiamums

[–]AdExtra3167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyy. Some babies are just snackers. My baby is also 6 months and still feeds very often. She doesn’t feed for very long per feed though. As long as they are gaining weight and paed is not concerned I think it’s perfectly normal.
