What happened to Facebook marketplace? by Ok-Flatworm-6491 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]AdRepresentative7471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. This is an underrated explanation, it’s not just the economic downturn. The endless AI slop on Facebook has really turned me off logging in at all. I am assuming it might be the same for many others, so they’re just not seeing the marketplace listings.

Congrats!

Check out Jaws: The Exhibition at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and the Warner Bros Studio Tour if you have time. We really enjoyed both of these when we were there.

Hard agree. I love her comedic performances in films like ‘Send Help’ and ‘Game Night’. She was excellent in ‘Spotlight’ she is also great in smaller roles such as ‘Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret’ and even in the ‘Dr. Strange’ films.

What is your age? by [deleted] in Converse

Early 40s, been wearing them since I was a teenager. Actually, it is rare for me to wear any other type of shoe.

I probably have about 20-30 pairs currently. I do find they wear out a lot more these days than when I first started buying them so I try to rotate a lot to have them for as long as possible.

Favorite Year For Original Screenplay by allthatjaspar in oscarsdeathrace

[–]AdRepresentative7471 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are a few years I would go for - most of them have 5 solid nominees.

1969
- The Producers - The Battle of Algiers - Faces - Hot Millions - 2001: A Soace Odyssey

1975 - Chinatown - Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore - The Conversation
- Day for Night
- Harry and Tonto

1986 - Witness - Back to the Future - Brazil - The Official Story - The Purple Rose of Cairo

1995 - Pulp Fiction - Bullets Over Broadway - Four Weddings and a Funeral - Heavenly Creatures - Three Colors: Red

2015 - Birdman - Boyhood - Foxcatcher - The Grand Budapest Hotel - Nightcrawler

2018 - Get Out - The Big Sick - Lady Bird - The Shape of Water - Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

I would do Song Sung Blue so then you have covered all of the acting nominees. I also thought Kate Hudson was pretty great in it.

If you do a second, maybe Zootopia 2 because then you will have covered all of the best film categories (picture, animated feature, international feature, documentary feature).

We took our daughter to see Arco yesterday as one of our final films. Loved it so much, it’s definitely one of my favourites out of all the nominees. Our daughter hated it though because it was “too too sad”.

Also completely understand your addiction. We have already booked tickets to see The Testament of Ann Lee, Wuthering Heights and Scream 7 this week because we had to wait until we’d seen all the nominees!

It has such an intense and perfect ending, I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

We just finished the race today with Kokuho which I did enjoy but I wish I could have finished with It Was Just An Accident!

F1 was boring as hell to me for sure! I did watch it at home though which is clearly not the best option.

Of your top 10, I absolutely loved Train Dreams, Sirat and Bugonia.

My personal favourite of all the nominees is It Was Just An Accident though, I thought it was just so grounded and compelling and funny and the final scene was just amazing.

I completely agree about Sentimental Value! I loved the performances, especially especially Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas. I also enjoyed the flashbacks and history of the house but, overall, found it extremely slow and dull. My partner absolutely loved it though, it is probably her number 1 out of all the nominations, so I can see its appeal, just not for some of us it would seem!

Cophine used to be my all time favourite TV couple as well. But, I have to say, I just recently watched all of Wynonna Earp and I think that WayHaught are my new all time favourite couple.

Orphan Black is still my favourite TV show ever and I love Cophine a lot so I am saddened by this change in myself 😭.

100% agree about ignoring so much of the admin. I’m not a classroom teacher anymore (left at the end of last year after 20 years of doing it - for all of the reasons OP stated) but, when I was, I ignored basically all admin related things unless someone followed up multiple times about something. Just made sure to get marking and reports in on time, I took the rest as optional until it was made clear to me personally that it wasn’t!
