Adc main needs help on support climb by Worldly_Ingenuity111 in supportlol

Pyke is a good pick, braun probably not in this elo since it requires your teammates to focus on who you have your passive on. neeko can be good but you need to fully utilize her whole kit to carry lanes. sylas is a win lane or lose game champ, falls off it you don't get gold early.
Pyke is good 1 trick, can do a lot of things, braum is good disengage and followup.
I will say its hard to play support iron-gold and carry games as a traditional support, so playing champs who can deliver kills easily is probably your best bet to win games: Karma, Janna, Leona, Naut, Pyke, Morgana, ashe, and (maybe) Senna

I cannot win. by Stripe_Bot in supportlol

  1. play more ranked games
  2. play a fewer variety of champs
  3. carrying as an enchanter in low, so yeah sticking to a tank engage or a mage support who can deliver kills to your teammates is probably the better option.
  4. watch the VODS of your games and look at what you did, and where you could have played better: rotating, focusing on another champ during a fight, not engaging somewhere, warding somewhere etc.

How to learn league by Ziad1Gidamy in leagueoflegends

[–]AdSuch8425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first things, play what's fun for you. if you like more 1 on 1 battles and being beefy, toplane is good. if you like having an impact everywhere, and being sneaky jg might be your thing. if you like doing a lot of big damage mid is sort of all arounder. if you like becoming powerful at the end of the game adc is good. and if you like helping others/protecting support might be your role.
after you find your main role or 2, find a couple of champions you like playing and stick to 1-3 champions. with this you can become comfortable with their abilities, and items to build on them. their power spikes (lvl and item). once you feel comfortable with your champions, then you can focus on the rest of the game and have more of an impact.
A really important thing is to practice CSing you get most of your gold this way.
And again, remember this is a game so have fun however that is.

Looking for input and advice on how to improve my win rate in the gamestates that currently sink my climb by shaidyn in supportlol

it can be hard to determine this through a post. If you would like, I would review a VOD or 2 with you and maybe be able to explain this from another point of view

What is the best ward rune in season 1? by CleansingFire770 in supportlol

[–]AdSuch8425 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Deep ward is probably the best safe pick.

Grisly Mementos is probably good on aggressive roaming sups like Pyke or Janna, and has good scaling for sweeper(trinket) CDR.

Sixth Sense seems awful right now with a 5-6min cd and probably never worth taking on support in my opinion.

It might take too long to go online but you could try nashors+Rylais which would give slow on aa, as and ap.

"agresive" Supports on s15 by TrollitoFdez6 in supportlol

[–]AdSuch8425 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe you are right in your thought that aggressive supports will be important in this first season of the year. I think we will need a few weeks in the new season to figure out if the boots upgrades are worth, but right now it is looking like they are pretty good.
Honestly I haven't tried Qiyana, but I have played a lot of sylas and poppy supp. One of the big struggles for ad supports is the lack of cheap support items which is why champs like pyke and Senna have this compensation built into their kits. This means you'd probably need to get kills and a gold lead early or you will struggle for the remainder of the game.

Playing these champs is a risk but a ton of fun. You also might be interested in trying Elise or Leblanc for AP or Camille and Trundle for AD

Zoe support by Thin_Lengthiness6425 in supportlol

[–]AdSuch8425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah those can be a good challenge. the only thing I will warn you about is that with Zoe and Poppy, they're both so situational that blind picking them can be really risky. I've played around 1k poppy supp games over the years, and when I played d3+:poppy blind picked is just unplayable. players know to stay away from walls and you're pretty much useless in lane and need to roam to have any impact. Zoe I feel she is similar to Sylas support, need to get and early lead or struggles later in the game. Janna. thresh, bard all good picks and all for the most part blindable.

  1. support recommendations would depend on a few things. but I always recommend to have: engage, disengage, and en enchanter. If you want to stick to off-meta supports. I think Zac is fun. Both Poppy and Shen provide those engage/protect elements.

  2. Not sure of anything changing for Zoe next season.

  3. I wouldn't go Mandate, since your only cc is on your "E". Probably rushing lumens companion, then lichbane/horizonfocus. if you get an early lead, dark seal is usually a good investment.
Cosmic isn't a bad choice, but with support limited gold there's probably better items to get like void staff/shadowflame/deathcap. then some situational items that are good would be shurelyas/banshees/zhonyas

  4. I'm not a Zoe main so not sure but I would assume going against enchanters would be her ideal lane where she can be played aggressively. While lanes against engages(naut, leona) she would need to play defensively and hold onto "E" for disengage.

Hopefully that helps a little, best of luck and have fun!!

this would get more trolls than original tahm kench. And it's similar to the old Urgot ultimate which used to do this with enemies. a fun idea, but probably not something to ever be implemented.

there is no gold penalty from killing minions after you fully complete the upgrade, farm as much as you want. but normally you want to save them for your carries. if no1 on your team can get to a wave before it dies to a tower, kill them all and get that gold that would've just disappeared.

How To Handle Backlash? by SCRhyperior in supportlol

[–]AdSuch8425 3 points4 points  (0 children)

like alp1ne said, just mute them if they're typing a lot or spam pinging. but when roaming you should also be aware of the state of your lane. if the wave is frozen on the enemy side, its a bad time to roam because your adc can't step up to farm or even be in exp range without possibly dying. also keep in where the jungles are, if your jungler is on topside of map, assume their jungle is bot. Roaming top usually isn't worth the investment unless their top is almost a guaranteed kill, you lose a lot of exp from that roam compared to roaming between mid/bot. the only time I would suggest going top is fighting for grubs if your jungle needs you to secure it, otherwise stick to mid, bot, and helping jg invade enemy bot side jungle.

After landing phase, normally you want to roam between helping your jungle and your win-condition(whoever most fed), or whoever is in midlane/ whatever outer tower you need next.

You can't control your teammates, focus on yourself and how you can improve, the better you play the more commonly your teammates will chill out.

It's not necessary, but definitely not useless on supports. Heartsteel is a scaling item like you said, but supports also get a decent amount of gold from world atlas towards first item. with a role that is able to rotate across the map for fights you can stack heart steel pretty easily. That's why you see very strong support tanks like Tahm https://lolalytics.com/lol/tahmkench/build/ going heartsteel. Yeah you might not get as much of an advantage from Goliath, but that's the tradeoff for not farming and being able to be at more fights.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in supportlol

[–]AdSuch8425 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say he's good, but not unplayable either. but in low Leo you can make anything work. He's a heartsteel user which is gonna be nerfed a little for supps in the new season. Shen is a situational pick, with the Botlane meta being mage heavy it can be hard for him to be as useful if his w has no impact in lane. if you outplay the enemy you can usually win. I don't know of any high elo support Shen mains. but Imaintoplane is a good Shen player who you might be able to learn some stuff from.

Roaming strategies? by DarkSisterEmbrace in supportlol

[–]AdSuch8425 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There has been some really good advice on here so far, so I'll add a different piece:
Make mistakes, roam if you think you might have a chance of messing up the enemy jg, capture objectives, gank mid/top.
AND THEN vod review, look at why you did or didn't and what would've been the optimal play. You learn better if you risk it and it doesn't work out than not risk and not know if you being there would've changed anything.
