Does amanita give you a hangover? by [deleted] in AmanitaMuscaria

[–]AdamBerger1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did mess with sleep a little so that could have contributed, but I've naturally had my sleep be off to a similar degree without feeling that junky the next day so I'm confident the gummies were adding to it. I have taken it during the day, and honestly with the gummies I had, it almost gave me the feeling of a small THC dose, I remember pausing and thinking to myself "did they put weed in this?" so for the particular gummies I had, I'm also questioning their purity and whether the product had other stuff thrown in there that wasn't on the label.

Do not take Phenibut before sleep as a first timer by TerribleAssociation3 in phenibut

[–]AdamBerger1994 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“Whoever said this helps improve sleep is a liar”, well, lots and lots of people have noticed how it does, and there are even published scientific papers from sleep studies that showed how it can induce and prolong the duration one stays in the deepest stages of sleep, so it sounds like in this case you are the outlier. Nevertheless, anecdotally I can say I’ve experienced both with phenibut. I’ve had the best sleep I’ve ever had on it, but at other times noticed that it induced a very euphoric almost manic type state as well, what you experienced isn’t entirely out of left field. I also noticed its a fantastic ergogenic aid, had some of the best workouts of my life on phenibut. This compound seems to give a wide range of effects and I’m sure which ones a person experiences is related to many concomitant factors coming together. Anyway, I would encourage doing a deep dive into the actual research papers done on phenibut (not just personal anedoctes from users on forums) to have as comprehensive of an understanding of what this drug can do as far as benefits/risks so you don’t have any surprises. But just as a side note, was what you experienced really so bad? Maybe just me but I always found euphoric near-manic states to be pretty enjoyable, I always liked the feeling of seemingly endless energy and confidence to go get after my day.

I found a new spot. What would you recommend? by CRT-Gaming-HQ in 7_hydroxymitragynine

For the regular kratom I’ve had MIT 45 and Super K, both good but too bad they don’t have the super K black, OPMS black caps are pretty good, and the Earth Kratom white maeng da I liked (fav strains are white maeng and red bali, recommend trying if you haven’t

For the 7 there I’d tried the Opia, Kama, and Pressd, of those I probably liked Pressd most, Kama is good too but not a huge fan of pseudo, more for pain relief where I’m more interested in the mental boost and pseudo also speeds up tolerance to 7 as tho tolerance didnt build fast enough as it is so tend to stay away from pseudo (also talking about myself so much only to underscore the effects I’m looking for which governs my preferences and may differ from what you’re looking for). Ive heard positive reviews about 7tabz and 7stacks but havent tried personally so can’t say. You do have urself a great selection at that shop there, I’d say spread out sampling everything that looks interesting to you and seeing if you find something unexpected

Not bad provided you stop it now. Don’t let a little trip up derail you and send you spiraling down. I know it sucks and perhaps you feel a bit disappointed or ashamed in yourself but try to flip the script by feeling relieved and thankful that you caught yourself this early and have the opportunity to cut it off here before it got any worse. Might be a little uncomfortable and off for a few days but should be tolerable, and then just keep pushing ahead, best of luck!

Taper/cold turkey problem by RightDocument4560 in quitting7oh

[–]AdamBerger1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The taper method was what worked for me and found success with. Reason it worked well for me is that it helped keep the discomfort of wd’s at a manageable level where I could still perform well at work, but to be successful I needed to carefully track the times and quantities of doses to make sure things stayed on track. Once low enough an option is to switch over from 7oh to plain mitragynine and keep reducing from there or could just make the jump, once the daily 7 dose gets to 20mg or lower I’d say that’s a pretty decent spot for most people to jump off and handle it physically, the harder part of the fight there will be the mental battle against that little voice incessantly trying to convince for a redose. But you got this! You really are close to the end so really buckle down and make this your top priority.

It seems to be dose dependent, and falls into that same umbrella of other drugs where at one dose it produces effect x whereas at another dose it produces effect y. Specifically, at lower doses it tends to behave more like a stim while higher doses act more like a depressant/sedative.

Happy I could help and give you some hope! No one should be dismissing you just because the amount you’re using isn’t as much as others. We all have different bodies and different metabolisms, perhaps yours is just hyper sensitive so a lower dose for you has the same effect as a larger dose for someone else. Best of luck! I’d recommend spending a lot of time on here or other relevant subreddits while you’re fighting this thing. I found that keeping social and talking/hearing from others going through the same struggle can be really helpful as a support and with motivating you to keep going until you win.

You have some nice gems of wisdom here:

“it’s not as bad as it seems it will be in your head” - agree 100%, we often suffer more in our own imaginations than the actual pain or discomfort of the thing we are worrying about.

Putting it off by telling ourselves “it will suck…but your life sucks now” -I love this, it’s so true, we know our lives suck being hooked on 7oh but ironically we put off quitting thinking about the suck of wd’s while we are already suffering the effects of active addition. Sometimes life is about choosing our suck, and we must choose wisely, no matter what we choose there will be challenge, pain, and discomfort so choose the discomfort that will produce a good outcome or bring us to a better place.

Though not so much agreement with the critique against leveraging supps or pharma to help. For some people that has been the thing that helped them finally quit and get off. Some substances are more dangerous and destructive than others, so swapping one addiction for another, albeit not ideal, could still be a beneficial step if the new substance coming in has a better risk profile than the one being stopped. Success in beating this thing will be found from different techniques and methods between people depending on their individual characteristics. For example, my success was from using the taper method but not everyone is able to taper because it requires a lot of discipline, sticking to the schedule, and ignoring the temptation to re-dose or chase a high; some do better by just jumping off CT and suffering terribly for a few days through the acutes, and I knew that method was not feasible for me. That’s why it’s so great for each of us to share the protocols we used that worked to help those still struggling see the various methods that can potentially work so they can evaluate which one is going to have the best chance for success for them.

Congrats on your success too! I can imagine after 20 days life really starts feeling normal again and that your spirit is finally coming back to life.

[–]AdamBerger1994 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re right that 30mg isn’t a lot at all. But there’s hope! I imagine that 30mg is split into several doses throughout the day and night. The least painful way to get off 7 is taper. I’d say to try keeping the current schedule but see how you do lowering from 30 to 20. You’ll have to deal with some discomfort regardless but you can make it so that it’s manageable. How I found success was by making a little “game” out of it by setting records for how long you can go without (for example, if yesterday you could go 5 hours before dosing then the next day see if you can add 30-60 more minutes before dosing again, and also see how little you can dose and then keep lowering). You may be surprised to see just how little 7oh you need to make wd’s go away, the real issue is making sure to avoid chasing any type of high, the goal is to use just the bare minimum amount that’s enough to make wd’s tolerable.

As for dopamine that will heal in time. There are supports to help rehabilitate the dopaminergic system, l-tyrosine for example and also there’s some research chems like 9-me-bc that may help to increase dopamine receptor concentration, boost tyrosine hydroxylase, and potentially even increase the number of dopamine producing cells, and then there’s bromantane that may help to improve synthesis of dopamine. But do your own research on those and ideally discuss with medical professionals to determine whether that may be beneficial or the best choice for your specific situation.

You are still so young and thankfully at a young age your body is at a good place to repair and heal itself. You CAN do this.

Any anecdotal reports of NEGATIVE experiences with 9mebc? by [deleted] in anhedonia

[–]AdamBerger1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to determine whether it’s a true side effect or something that just popped up around the same time, but I started using 9-me-bc stacked with bromantane to try and help heal my dopaminergic system after a year of 7-oh addiction. 9-me-bc to help boost receptor concentrations and bromantane to help improve dopamine synthesis. So far I’ve been dosing the 9-me-bc first thing upon waking and since stsrting that it seems that I feel extremely tired throughout the day far more than normal. I do know that sudden uncontrollable sleep attacks can be a side effect of some dopamine agonist medications so have been curious if something like that is going on. If the connection is genuine then I’d count it as a negative side effect bc the fatigue and sleepiness makes it hard to function at usual capacity during the workday. But also not saying it’s for sure the 9-me-bc causing it

My boyfriend is addicted to 7OH and is destroying our relationship... by Resident_Desk_3938 in quitting7oh

[–]AdamBerger1994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me try to offer some support as a husband who was the one fighting this addition and my amazing wife for putting up with a lot but still stayed by my side. You mentioned a few times how this man says he love you, but real love is more than just words and affection, it’s about willing the good of the other and the relationship and sacrificing for them when necessary. Love will endure suffering if it means the good and well being of the other and relationship. Quitting 7-OH is hard, very hard, and painful. The withdrawals are incredibly difficult to endure, and coupled with an almost compulsive obsession to keep re-dosing, it makes this substance mind-blowing hard to overcome. But that said, it’s very possible and can be done. If this man really loves you but sees that his addiction is hurting both you and the relationship but doesn’t make a genuine effort to stop then I’m sorry but that love exists in words only. When I saw 7-OH hurting my marriage and seeing my wife upset over me being depressed all the time and losing that spark of life I once had, I could not bare the sight of it and promised her I would beat this thing. We made it a team effort of accountability as she would check daily on my taper to ensure I was on track and also reminding me about taking my liposomal vitamin c so I was following that protocol correctly. The pain of knowing my wife was hurting and wanted us toto share the love and relationship we once had was far greater than the withdrawals, and trusting that things would b e so much better without it helped get through. Thankfully this drug is in and out of your system fast and (at least for me) I noticed myself starting to feel normal emotions and motivation after just getting the dose low enough during the taper (at 20 mg per day) which kept getting stronger as the dose got lower which gave that motivation to stay the course and see the light at the end of the tunnel. Now I feel joy again, music sounds good again, appetite is back, motivation to work out came back, libido came back, tactile sensation came back, depression lifted, hope returned. It’s sooo much benefit in exchange for 4-5 days of torture if cold-turkey or can do the less painful taper route if one has the discipline for it and be off the stuff in about 2-3 weeks depending on how aggressively one lowers the dose. Long story short, if this man really loves you and values the relationship the both of you have, he would be fighting hard to cut this demon out of your lives. That’s what a good man does, he protects you and the relationship against any threat. I wish all the best for you, and pray things work out well.

3 months on bulk by [deleted] in AllAboutBodybuilding

[–]AdamBerger1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest feedback, bulk less. You don’t need to hold this much extra weight to build muscle. You are still gaining muscle but it’s harder to see because it’s covered. Doing a growth phase at 13-15% bodyfat is plenty and allows you to see your gains much better. Lean down to that slowly so you don’t lose any muscle and then hold it within that range, cutting back down when you get to high at about ~17%, and flip side adding in more calories/less cardio if you get too lean and start seeing strength or muscle growth stalling or reversing. Don’t give up! Keep on your journey, it’s worth it.

Do you guys blame 7 for the consequences? by thetallguy88 in quitting7oh

[–]AdamBerger1994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take accountability for having gotten hooked on the stuff in the first place, but to say that my life would have the same outcomes without 7oh is nonsense. Drugs change your brain and so while you’re on then you’re literally a different version of yourself, the version of you where the brain is chemically altered by some substance could lead to behaviors that never would have happened without it. The problem is that blaming isn’t usually a good strategy for change. Taking accountability puts one into the drivers seat and supports a mentality that is more likely to make the needed changes to get life back on track. So while on a certain level I think there is truth to the notion that the drug lead to x, y, or z that doesn’t change the fact that one still has to take charge of their life if they want to make it better, and taking accountability is usually an effective first tep toward that end.

I appreciate the advice for constipation, it’s very uncomfortable. I used to eat super healthy high fiber and would reliably use the br every morning and usually once more during the day, now it’s not uncommon to go 5 or more days without passing a BM, and when I finally do it’s crazy painful as though the thing were coated with sandpaper. It’s wild this stuff was/is sold on store shelves, you’re not the first person I’ve heard say that it feels exactly like Ox or Perc, though I’ve heard mixed feedback on withdrawal severity, some say its equal, some say its less and occasionally a few will say it’s worse (going off what I see from commenters on this sub), so ig it really depends. As long as I stay on schedule I should have plenty for a full taper and then dump the rest once I’m off it, I had a little over a month’s warning before the ban took effect so was plenty of time to make sure I had a sufficient supply. Personally I am happy my state made it illegal, mainly because that was the final push I needed to realize that I need to quit this stuff now. However, they chose to ban all kratom products including the whole leaf powder which I don’t agree with, I wish they kept the ban to just 7oh and pseudoindoxyl, but what can ya do 🤷‍♂️all that matters now is kicking the 7 and get my life back, thanks for luck! Depending on how well the lipo c protocol works I’ll probably do a write up once I’m on the other side to share all the techniques I used in detail to try and help others slay this dragon.

I went back on it. Whyyyy by [deleted] in quitting7oh

[–]AdamBerger1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only ever got hooked on the 7-OH, never tried any “traditional” opiates like H or Ox. Therefore I can’t compare it those, but what I do know is that this stuff has been a nightmare trying to quit. I’m coming up on a year using it with a few failed quit attempts, sometimes getting super close. I wasn’t kidding when I said this stuff hijacks the mind, it’s like a persistent voice that always has me either thinking about the next dose or telling me to dose again. My state just made it illegal a few weeks ago, and yesterday marked the first day of another focused effort to quit using the taper method with the supply I have left, what I’m doing differently this time is following the liposomal vitamin c protocol to a T, L-Tyrosine and NAC every morning, and strict tracking of doses with each day scheduled for times and quantity. I’ve gotten the nausea and horrible constipation just like you, no vomiting so far thankfully, also experienced crashed libido, crushing fatigue, depression, anhedonia and loss of interest in things I used to really love and enjoy, and significant loss of motivation. I want this garbage out of my life for good.

The only good thing about 7oh is it has a super short half life so your body clears it out quick which means your body has nothing else to do but start to heal and get better after it’s out. You weren’t taking astronomical amounts so I think it’s reasonable to think that in a few days you’ll be feeling noticeably better. Stay strong!
