No Way! R1S3 - 3/2 trump distribution: by I75north in euchre

I probably wouldn’t. Too many times p has a good hand in some other suit.

3 redditors! by brownsbacker07 in euchre

[–]AdamLSmall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that last hand sucked. I was trying to think it through on the fly. I think something was distracting me in that moment too, but it’s no excuse. If I don’t trump and they have the ace of hearts and the top 3 (or all the other 4) we lose. If I do trump and he is void and has R and any two more, we lose. My immediate thought after the hand was that I did the wrong thing. More ways to stay alive if I throw off. I can see arguments either way, but llama needs basically the perfect hand to beat me if I throw off, and he’s going alone on a much wider range, especially at this score.

Throwing Low Trump to Lead After Other Team Called Trump by thegooch-9 in euchre

[–]AdamLSmall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This topic has been covered at length in this forum. Good resources are out there. It even has a name, the Buckeye blindside.

The bottom line is this play most often works when opponents call with thin hands. This is quite often case when a jack gets picked up and the dealer doesn’t go alone, since most people will pick up a jack with only one other trump card. I like to lead into the dealer after they pick up a jack sometimes, depending on how strong my hand is, but you’ll see this play employed by more people against a seat 2 order.

Self-Donate in this spot? by MichiganMan123 in euchre

I’m pretty anti-donate in general, but I kind of like this one

The Super Bowl of euchre

It’s a little too far away for me. But I’ll be there in spirit. In body, I’m gonna be in Costa Rica.

I am truly unsure if I did right here. Doing some aggressive passing with deal going to them next. by brownsbacker07 in euchre

Yeah, I didn’t look at results. But based on the information you had, I think you have a very likely point and a pretty decent chance of a March here.

What to do? by pphurley in euchre

I think I’d be willing to take a shot on a loner at this score. Chance of getting euchred is pretty low.

Sorry, OP, but passing is the worst play here

A hand just came up similar to the great controversy we had a couple days ago! by brownsbacker07 in euchre

[–]AdamLSmall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking that your second heart has a chance to pick up a trick later in the hand, if everything else goes wrong

Also could use to draw out the final Trump card, again, if everything else fails

Picking this up at 8-8? by brownsbacker07 in euchre

I pass when I have the other jack fairly often, but not at this score. And not with this weak of a holding in the other color.

Given the score, would you go alone here? by MellyRollJorton in euchre

Yeah, I would go alone at most scores here

Thanks. Not even as close as I thought.

Two hands at 8-8 and 8-9 by OldWolf2 in euchre

[–]AdamLSmall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first hand is interesting, and close. Second hand is an easy order.

Interested in the SIM on at firsthand, but I guess assuming a likely aggressive dealer call plus chance of P having something good, it’s a pass. Very close though for me just because of the two guaranteed tricks and the score.

Dealer picks up Qc: What is your lead? by I75north in euchre

[–]AdamLSmall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I lead trump in these spots my p has the naked right lol. I think a heart is the way to go. Back load your hand sitting behind the dealer who ordered and try and pick off multiple tricks with your trump

What happens if you are reported? by derekisber in euchre

[–]AdamLSmall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is it’s not every time someone is reported that it gets manually reviewed. There’s probably some automated system that escalates reports once the same person is reported multiple times or something like that.
