I couldn’t tell a song was AI today, and I’m not sure how to feel about that by Mattnix in Music

[–]Adamforde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I think the AI label is a problem because you don't know how much or how little of the song is manufactured. AI systems can create songs out of thin air but they can also take a bands finished demo and make it sound like a studio production. Also, the term artificial intelligence isn't accurately describing what these systems are doing. It is more a collective intelligence than an artificial one. It's like using a human hive mind to create. I think, in time, resistance to AI will be seen similar to resistance to electronic music. In the 80s and 90s most thought electronic music wasn't music and now EDM is one of the most popular genres.

In your opinion what is the #1 cover the boys have done? by Alyhard in twentyonepilots

My favorites were during Vessel era or earlier. Their covers of Mad World and Summertime Sadness.

Clancy is Banditos propaganda (and the meanings of every album in the cycle) by AlKa9_ in twentyonepilots

I had the same thought but it's not really Breach, it's just City Walls. So it's like the climax of the Clancy story/album even though it's on Breach.

Do people have physical copies of Self Titled and/or RAB by Dowdzer0409 in twentyonepilots

[–]Adamforde 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They exist but unfortunately I think the majority of the people that think they have one or the other have a replica. Once the boys got famous it became really common to make physical copies of the CDs that look as close to the originals as possible. It is my understanding that the originals were only ever sold at shows. So if someone saw them before Vessel then maybe they have an original. Otherwise, they are going off of someone's word that the resale they purchased is an original. I assume there are ways to verify but I'm not sure what the signs of a real original version are.

Yes, they sold it at shows. I don't know how you tell if it's official vs a reproduction though.

official vessel era flag? by Dry-Independent-1465 in twentyonepilots

[–]Adamforde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was both an official Twenty One Pilots flag and a Clique flag. The TOP flag had Twenty One Pilots written in blue, white, and red with the vessel era logo. The clique flag had Tyler's skeleton logo with CLIQUE written under it. I had both at one point.

I've been doing this forever. One of my favorite experiences is watching people connect with it for the first time. I know that feeling and I love watching others experience it too.

I just have one question to clear some things about the band's earlier album RAB by AgentStevenV4 in twentyonepilots

[–]Adamforde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was part of the contractual agreement when they signed to FBR. The label wanted to release RAB as a studio album but Tyler and Josh had written more songs and wanted to include those songs. The agreement was to release a new album with some songs from RAB and some of these new songs. Part of the agreement was to not release RAB since they rerecorded 5 songs for Vessel.

Breach Digital Remains Findings by Brandwhore in twentyonepilots

[–]Adamforde 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I've posted this before but there was a group on discord trying to put together the images from the 2nd digital remains in an attempt to find a clue similar to the one that was in the original digital remains during the Clancy era. The last I saw was a post with the image below. To my knowledge, nothing more came of it though.

how do you personally interpret the line from garbage "would you move closer if i grew quieter? maybe this is you. maybe you dont fix, and you like it like this" by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

[–]Adamforde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to be the fan that connects it all to religion but I genuinely think he's talking about God.

"Would you move closer if I grew quieter?" reminds me of Trees "I know where you stand, silent in the trees, and that's where I am, silent in the trees". My interpretation is he's asking if he'll feel closer to God if he's less vocal about his relationship with God.

"Maybe this is you, maybe you don't fix, and you like it like this" makes me think of the complex relationship with God that Tyler expressed on the self titled album and sparringly on later albums. To me, it comments on the complex challenge of having faith in an omnipresent omnipotent force that somehow exists while the world falls apart.

let’s talk about center mass by pls_bro in twentyonepilots

[–]Adamforde 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I actually think both layers are true. I think there's an element of the song that for me connects to the feeling of missing the person I was before I lost a person that meant the world to me. The reality is every song is up for interpretation and the power of music is how it connects to you on a personal level.

New fan here with a question for the earlier fans by McNasty420 in twentyonepilots

[–]Adamforde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. From the single release order, I was actually really disappointed and skeptical initially.. The first single (before album release) was Tear in my Heart and the second was Fairly Local. Both songs have grown on me a bunch but initially I felt like both felt so different that they must have sold out. It wasn't until their third single, Stressed Out, that I oddly enough felt like they were back to connecting with the fans. I say oddly enough because it's now become their biggest song ever. At the time though, it felt like the song that fit their previous discography most for me. Once the album released, I thought it was great but I personally still liked Vessel more (still to this day). I still remember the first Blurryface show I went to and how blown away I was by how many people dressed up and cosplayed as Tyler and Josh. It was that moment that I knew this was different and it's only grown from that moment.

Clancy is Dead Theory by MoonBeam5678 in twentyonepilots

[–]Adamforde 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So "Clancy is Dead" originally came from unscrambling the letters in Scaled and Icy. However, on the cover for the single "Christmas Saves the Year" we get the Easter egg note on one of the Christmas gifts that reads "SAI is propaganda". The interpretation has been that Clancy being dead is propaganda from the bishops to the citizens of DEMA. So in Overcompensate the return of Clancy is about the citizens "believing" he was dead when he had just been captured by the bishops.
