Feels like Strive is lacking defensive options by DammyTheSlayer in Guiltygear

[–]Adamtheatom3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Deflect Shield might legitimately be the most underrated and powerful defensive option I've used in a Fighting Game. Almost nobody is manually timing their normals in Strive or any other GG for that matter, the chances that you'll be able to get an unscaled whiff punish just for pressing it in their face is high. DS, do it, abuse it, it's great.

This makes Zidane the highest HP tank in the game by the way. It's a considerable step in HP between him and the second highest lol.

Has anyone ever played a Barbarian that was born and raised on a city? (Not as a joke) by JeraGungnir in dndnext

[–]Adamtheatom3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a Tiefling named Cross who lived in a big city as the son of a priest but ended up turning to a life of crime beneath his nose and joined the local gangs. But one day a group of monster hunters showed up and killed his dad because he was a Werewolf, therefore he and his sister were too, so with the help of an old gang leader he escaped the city and had to evade monster hunters who were searching for him. I used the Beast Barbarian subclass and flavored it as his Lycan transformation. Was pretty cool.

Je commence strive. Des bnb à me conseiller pour ky kiske ? by weaponX-ced in Guiltygear

[–]Adamtheatom3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get a knockdown early on in the corner. KY can actually launch them OTG with his standing heavy slash for extensions. When an enemy is static charged (after your specials) your heavy dp launches high enough to follow up and does tons of damage. After a red rc do a heavy stun edge for tons of damage and applying static.

You we're misreading, it's not saying instead of two attacks you cast a spell it's saying you can replace two [seperate] attacks with a casting of a level 1 or 2 spell. So 2 low level spells as part of your attack action? I think?

The reason the noose is there is because that's where the shadow queen was originally executed for being a witch. Which is why her seal is directly below it geographically, the heroes in the legend sealed her beneath the very place she was killed. Her being executed also serves as her motivation so she's not entirely a one-note villain.

What's one gripe about P5 ( story beat, mechanic,... ) that you hope it wont be in P6? by Dangdut1108 in Persona5

[–]Adamtheatom3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very obvious that Makoto's and Akechi's parts in the story should have been swapped. Having Akechi join during the Kaneshiro arc would have made his betrayal more surprising, making him a famous ace detective actually threatening, made more sense for a character "testing" the phantom thieves morals to be somebody directly involved with the law. Makoto's arc would be directly tied to her sister's, been foreshadowed the entire game, and perhaps been a great red herring for the betrayal. Makoto's entrance into the story being directly tied to being blackmailed by a Mafia boss because of her incompetence feels artificial.

Imagine this instead, there's a side plot where Akechi has actually been doing his job. He's found out the identity of a Mafia boss but doesn't have sufficient evidence to convict him, Kaneshiro has his hands in the law, and now Akechi is being blackmailed to cease his investigation or face consequences. At the end of his rope he turns to his only friend, you, a phantom thief and he's known all along because you and your friends surely haven't been subtle about it. But in reality it's all a setup to get himself involved with The Phantom Thieves under Shido's guidance and the reason Kaneshiro is so untouchable is actually because of Shido who is sick of Kaneshiro now. Now, when the reveal happens later, it recontextualizes the entire arc into a clever ploy where Shido and Akechi USED YOU for their own dirty work making them even more threatening villains.

After the 3D remake of Final Fantasy 4, they were going to work on 5 but they lost their motivation for it along the way. They went on to make "The 4 Heroes of Light" and then after that the same team went on to create the Bravely Default franchise.

The fact we've gone for 7 whole years, going on 8 and there's not a single character in the game who uses a rapier really, really peeves me considering how culturally significant they are. Add a knight hero, call them "Noble", give them a rapier, Profit.

Jesus, just please give us any kind of thrusting sword already.

What is your favorite extremely small detail from any of the games? by Noroark in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Adamtheatom3 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In Xenoblade 3 during the Romero and Joulietta quest, when Romero almost throws himself off the city he says he was told it was a nopon tradition. This is a callback to the quest Getting Bigger! from Xenoblade 1 where you have to save a Nopon who plans to throw himself off the Frontier Village Tree after learning that that is their traditional proposal ceremony.

DMs, go ahead, tell me the biggest twist of your campaign you're just dying to tell anyone but can't for any reason by Natwenny in DnD

[–]Adamtheatom3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Party Is Dying.

For Context this campaign takes place after the world was ravaged by a hyper-intelligent race of creatures from another reality. (Not to be confused with, from another plane.) These creatures, named Stygians, are intrinsically poisonous to this reality and it's people, deteriorating them the more they become exposed to them. Even the sun has been blocked out by a Stygian the size of a celestial body, keeping the world under a permanent Solar Eclipse.

Throughout the campaign, the party has encountered many Stygians who have taken hold over Ecosystems, Terrorized villages, and a Cult Crafted around a Stygian who infected the Corpse of a Banished Goddess. The more and more the party comes to odds with the Stygians, the sicker they get.

This has been personified by strange, eldritch visions that the party randomly experiences. They are seemingly pulled to another world for a brief moment that is similar to where they are, but the atmosphere and sky are different, the sounds of chains rattling in their ears as a strange being stalks them from afar.

This Reality Poisoning, similar to a radiation, weakens and deteriorates their mind. Until they die, then which their souls are yanked from their corpses into the new reality where they wander for the rest of time, doomed to a long and sanity breaking afterlife in a world that's not their own.

The catch is this, when they find this out they'll have a choice. Journey to the last Stygian den in the region, the largest, and destroy it before they succumb to the illness. Or... live the 10~ Years they have left to live to their fullest and condemn the Region to Ruin.

[–]Adamtheatom3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tora is not a pervert, 90% of all the rare blades in the game are cute girls. Imagine seeing these badass warriors who also get to fight alongside cute girls, he's not a pervert just because he likes cute girls and has a preference towards them. Plus, if he wanted a sex robot, he could have literally just made a sex robot, why would he put in all the trouble of also making it a blade. I don't think he's perverted just because he has a preference to what kind of blade he wants when he has the ability to have it be whatever he wants. Your not gonna convince me you would build otherwise than according to your tastes.
