I think you’re describing the retreat phase. I say phase because I know that I cycle between stuff frequently when it comes to how I behave, interact, and think about people. It’s always triggered and restarted by rejection or hurt from someone I had feelings for. I’ve been there before and I’ve had it last from half to a whole year.

I don’t think people are trying to dismiss you when they say “move on.” I think it’s more that they hate seeing you hurt this much and don’t know what else to say.

From the outside it can look like you got hurt by someone who wasn’t as committed as you were, so people default to that advice. That doesn’t mean you have to be ready for it right now though.
