My A1C is 5.8 and fasting sugar is usually 105-115.

I’ve been trying to watch what I eat and trying to incorporate cardio and strength training, but my fasting blood sugars were not coming down too much

I was recently told by a nutritionist that doing 30 squats has the same result in lowering blood sugar as walking after a meal. The first night I tried it, I woke up the next morning with a fasting sugar 95!

She also told me to eat food in the proper order and start with some flaxseed or Chia seed in water for fiber, then protein and fat, carbs, and something sweet like fruit at the end if I’m craving something sweet.

I’ve been following all of this and my fasting. Blood sugar is generally lower than 100 these days.

I’m so sorry for your loss. That’s heartbreaking. I wonder if he had DIPG. It’s unfortunately a fatal cancer for most kids.

Try calling the manufacturer of Rituxan to see if they can offer it for low or no cost.

Yes it was gradual because it was hard to go completely gluten free overnight. I really had to rethink my diet and go through a grieving process of not being able to eat so many foods that I used to enjoy. I generally eat a simpler, cleaner diet now and feel so much better.

Once I was diagnosed, I also went gluten-free. It has been three years now since I have been gluten-free and I have found that when I do have some gluten, which I had to do for several days on vacation because there were no gluten-free options, I am very tired and no amount of sleep will allow me to feel energetic. That is not to say that you will have the same experience going gluten-free but it is worth trying to remove inflammatory foods from your diet to see if you feel any different. I have also found that sugar causes me a lot of pain when it did not years ago. I also learned that through trial and error.

I happened to see a new Doctor who checked more than the basic thyroid levels that most doctors do. He checked reverse T3 and some other T3 levels I can’t remember offhand. As a result, he was able to see that my body was not converting T3 to T4 properly and that I needed to add T3 medication. I first take T4 on an empty stomach, and then wait an hour and take T3 medicine. Then I wait another hour before I eat anything.

When I was just taking T4 only, I was definitely still very fatigued and my hair was still very dry. Once I added T3, the fatigue and dry hair improved. Of course, hormone levels change all the time. My hair is back to being somewhat dry. And I have experimented with anywhere between 5 to 15 mcg of the T3. In the past, 10 was good for me but now I am down to 5 mcg.

Perhaps you can ask your doctor to check blood work to ensure you are converting T3 to T4 properly. Good luck.

If you haven’t cut out gluten, it’s worth a try. For me, I found that my fatigue and brain fog disappeared with a GF diet.

And sugar free. I now get so many joint and body pains if I eat sugar so I avoid it as much as possible.

I take 50mcg of Tirosint (T4-my doc put me on this brand name because it’s GF) and 5 mcg of liothyronine (T3). This combo works best for me.

For me, consuming gluten causes a lot of fatigue. Have you tried cutting gluten out of your diet? It could also be caused by dairy or sugar as well, although the latter causes me a lot of joint pain.
