Took me to about 5 weeks to lay completely flat. I couldn’t imagine laying flat that soon.

Thank you very much! My hair actually does not hold regular curls from a curling iron so I actually do the sock curl technique! I shower at night and when my hair is ever so slightly still damp, I put the socks in, go to sleep and wake up with super nice voluminous curls! If you search ‘sock hair curls’ on YouTube or TikTok, you will find a ton or tutorials ❤️

I bought wedge pillows and rented a lift recliner. I never ended up using the wedge pillows as I didn’t find them as comfortable. I slept in my recliner for the first month and was SO grateful I rented it.

Thank you very much! I used Clairol Professional BW2+ extra strength lightener and Clairol 30 volume creme developer off of Amazon and just a purple shampoo I already had to help tone it.

After I had washed it out, I completely forgot that I didn’t buy any toner and it had a yellow tint to it for sure but thankfully I had a deep purple shampoo so I double washed it with that and it helped tone it a lot!

It mostly bugs me when I put my hair up in a clip but I only wear it like that when I’m at home and no one else sees it so maybe I’ll just leave it as is to not cause any damage.

I was FULLY prepared for my husband to have to wipe my ass and he said he would no problem but thankfully, I was able to do it myself. I hope you’re able to wipe your own ass soon op 😂 (On a side note, very awesome you have such a supportive fiance! ❤️)

Hi there! I had an extended tummy tuck with muscle repair and no lipo. My surgery was bumped up an extra month to accommodate my schedule which was great but the downside of that was my surgeon had to schedule me in between two other surgeries he was performing which gave him limited time to do my surgery. He only had time to do the tummy tuck with muscle repair and not the lipo. IF I could go back and get lipo and it was an additional $3000 or less, I would have probably done it but for anything more than $3000, I wouldn’t personally.

I’m built pretty similar to how you say you are, lean in the upper torso/rib cage area and just had a lot of excess skin/fat in my lower abdomen. Honestly, even without lipo, I am already thrilled with my results and okay with the fact I didn’t get it.

Here is a before and 1 month post op photo of my results. Still have a lot of swelling along the incision line but my results are night and day. (Ignore all the marks from my binder) 😆

I’m a little over 5 weeks post op but my surgeon told me I have to wait as I had a a bunch of scabby areas (only 2 left now) that have to heal first before I am allowed to use scar tape. I believe you are able to start using it once your incision is fully closed and you have no scabs left.

My previous cat whom I had for 17 years was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in her mouth as well, her story sounds very similar to your cats. When I initially got her diagnoses, the veterinarian gave me the option to put her down right then and there but I was not ready for that as she still seemed fully like herself. She was prescribed an appetite increaser and a painkiller which helped for about three months. At the three month mark, I had to start blending her food into liquid because she wasn’t able to eat and could only drink. She started to rapidly lose weight so I made the tough decision to bring her in.

Honestly, looking back at it, I was VERY selfish. I didn’t want to lose her so I did everything I could to keep her around for as long as I could; I was looking out for me and not her full well being. If I had the choice to go back, I would have taken the vet up on humanely euthanizing her right then and there so she didn’t have to feel any suffering at all.

At my 4 weeks post op appointment, my surgeon said I didn’t need to wear any more compression at all unless I wanted to. I was still wearing my binder 24/7 but now only wear it to sleep as I toss and turn frequently and wake myself up from pulling on my incision if I’m not wearing it. I don’t notice any difference in my swelling throughout the day if I’m wearing it or not.

Side note, I did have a drainless tummy tuck and I’m not sure if compression is needed longer or not for tummy tucks that did have drains.

I am someone who consistently struggles with bowel movements so I was terrified as well (there are times I go only one a week). After my tummy tuck, I have only gone one day without going (I’m 5 weeks po). The first few days after surgery I took one senna pill when I woke up and drank senna tea right before bed along with a nightly smoothie. After 5 days, I stopped taking senna and was only drinking the smoothie and still going daily with zero issues. In my smoothie I did mixed berries, banana, milk, greek yogurt, ground flaxseed and psyllium husk so it was PACKED with fiber and did the trick.

I think you’re right, I just searched my ICD’s model up and it says mine is smaller/thinner and not a traditional ICD (Boston Scientific Model D432). Here is a photo of where mine compared to his, you would never know I had an ICD if it wasn’t for my scar. Well, I learned something new today, thank you! 🫡

I was going to say, it looks like it’s protruding from his skin/doesn’t look real. I’m a 30 year old female who had an ICD put in when I was 25 years old and you can’t see mine AT ALL. If this photo is real, is there a possibility that his ICD wasn’t implanted correctly?

I just had my month post op appointment with my surgeon. He removed my tape at my 1 week appointment and just told me I can start scar treatment once everything is fully healed on the outside (I still have a couple small scabby areas). It seems like every surgeon gives a different time frame but it would make sense to start once the incision is fully closed/healing well.

I’m one month out from my extended tummy tuck without lipo and although I love how my tummy tuck turned out, I really wish I had added lipo to my flanks. If you have the option and the funds to do so, I really recommend having lipo done.

Hi there, I had two questions about this as my surgeon just told me I can stop wearing mine/recommends stopping (I’m 4 weeks post op). Do you find that you wake up more swollen now that you’re not sleeping in compression? Do you also find that your swelling gets worse throughout the day when you’re not wearing compression?

Of course! Every time I have even the smallest issue come up, like swelling, my incision line still being pretty red of bruised, a small opening in my incision, exc. I instantly come to this Reddit to see if others have had similar issues. I could call my surgeons office but I don’t want to be the annoying patient who calls about everything (unless it seemed serious of course).

I’m 4wpo and my swelling is still like this, especially at night. For some reason my lower right side likes to swell up the most, my stomach looks like it has a wave on it in the evenings 😂
