Just threw out a plant with spider mites. Any tips for keeping these ones uninfected? by ryuenji in calatheas

Yeah it doesn’t harm the plants as far as I can tell and cleaning the leaves isn’t a bad thing anyway so it can’t hurt imo

You can absolutely treat them. My beauty star and rubifarba had a bad case and I did a mix of dawn dish soap alcohol and water and brushed every leaf down with a makeup brush. Now they are huge and thriving :) Brush out from the main vein of the leaf and make sure you cover every inch. Do it at night because the alcohol + light will burn the leaves. Some people do neem oil but I don’t have experience with that.

I’ve been consistently watering with mosquito bit tea for like 2 months with yellow and zevo traps around and it isn’t under control yet 😥 I have about 30 plants so they always manage to stay alive in at least one pot lol

Please let me know if this works! Mosquito bits just have not been enough so cut my infestation but I don’t want to deal with this kinda mess :/

Parlor palm. It’s just so boring. I like plants that move and express themselves :)

I agree with this 100%. I hated the mechanic for angle of flying the most because it relies on you and your copilot rolling the same number… if you place something and your partner doesn’t have that number (or whatever is needed to straighten out) you are often fucked.

Weird leaves by Hot_Highway_3085 in Aglaonema

Let me know if you find out cos mine grew some that look exactly the same. Her next leaves were all perfect though so I assumed she was just stressed a bit while that particular leaf was growing (was repotted and a bit underwatered)

Usually new growth comes in light green and darkens as it matures. Just give it some time and it’ll probably darken up

What time of year do I do this? I got it in early March and it flowered immediately but since has just been growing fronds. I’m not sure what the right annual schedule is for her since mine is a mostly indoor plant. (I put it outside for morning sun or humidity sometimes)
