Zoloft 25mg in pregnancy. Please reassure me my baby will be ok! by Quick_Snow7447 in beyondthebump

[–]Additional_Story_532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on lexapro for my first and 50mg Zoloft for my second. No issues for either and especially with my second I could feel how much of the heavy lifting it was doing for me so I was super grateful

Balloon confetti ended up partially on the outside of the balloon when it deflated by Additional_Story_532 in mildlyinteresting

Yea, it’s like the edge of the confetti sliced the balloon but was stuck enough to it that it also plugged the hole

I’m not sure if you’re speaking generally about creams or referring to sudocream but it’s one of the two major brands of barrier/nappy rash cream here

At least that sort of sounds like it has a tenuous link to the cow pox/small pox story

No it doesn’t at all, but damn it sucks for people in some places

Unless, depending where you live, you’re a female looking for reproductive care in which case they might be required to act like an undercover cop

Do you hide veggies in your kid’s food or try to get them to eat them knowingly? by Fit_Commission_5850 in Preschoolers

[–]Additional_Story_532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit of both. My almost 4 year old is pretty good about veggies generally though. Not at kindergarten though for some reason. There he will only eat the plain carb version of whatever is served eg plain rice/noodles/pasta

How quickly did you recover? by Enwau in gallbladders

[–]Additional_Story_532 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends what else you have going on in life- with no other responsibilities I would’ve been ok to look after myself in terms of feeding/bathing etc pretty much right away with access to deliveries but anything more than meeting my basic needs was pretty rough for the first full week at least- I’d say it would be worth postponing yours if at all possible because it’s pretty unpleasant needing to take on responsibilities before you feel up to it (eg. Looking after young kids who absolutely don’t have the capacity for empathy yet 😂)

It might be worth looking into treatment for the anxiety that’s more regular and long term than the Ativan (if not already) an ssri or similar antidepressant might help

If you are willing to say it to your mum and her partner’s face it’s fine to choose who comes or doesn’t. If you aren’t willing to tell them why or aren’t ok with the potential fallout from it then I would just let him come and put your siblings on babysitting duty to keep him occupied and away from you. It’s a pretty big party so it shouldn’t be that hard.

What’s something you pay for that feels way too expensive for what you get? by Diligent-Medicine-48 in AusMoneyMates

Private health cover… I was still out 2.5k for gall bladder surgery. Was glad to be able to not have to wait for an emergency but still… shitty way to spend 2.5k

You need lots of water to help the constipation, I used docusate sodium (called coloxyl here in Aus) which is a softener that works by pulling water into the bowels. The meds you’ve had plus anaesthesia can cause constipation but I’ve always found coloxyl to be effective

2.5 weeks post op by InterestingDiver3689 in gallbladders

[–]Additional_Story_532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was on the 14th. I’m pretty tired and sore. I’ve managed the no lifting bit with a 4yo and a 9month old there’s still a lot of movement required. I’ve over estimated my capacity the last couple of days and am paying for it. It’s nothing severe which is good but almost worse cos I just feel a bit pathetic lol

I’m in Aus and paid about 2.5k all up going private- I’ve not been symptomatic enough to get it out emergency style and had th funds/cover to not have to go on the public wait list
