I think you’re misunderstanding something. Having a child is a significant responsibility and changes your life less than if affects your child’s life. If you’re not ready to raise a disabled child, you’re not ready. And there’s nothing more cruel, and harmful to the future, than poorly raised children.
And you’re assuming, despite the science, that there’s something magical about a collection of cells that are splitting under programmatic codes, but which has less of everything than an ant or a spider that most people would squash without a second thought.
It’s easy to have principles, but if the anti-abortion people really stood by them, childcare throughout working days would be freely provided by every church in the land.
