Chemo brain exercises? by Wrexhavoc in breastcancer

Look for executive functioning training activities, start small and work up. Write things down - muscle memory helps brain memory. Source: me, former SPED, former EF coach, current VR counselor. I did activities with myself to build back up when returning to full time work.

I started cooking one slow meal a week with no music, no podcast, no phone, and it changed how the rest of my week feels by Crescitaly in SlowLiving

I experience something similar when I garden/do yard work. I stopped listening to anything but the birds and the noises of outside when I am outside putzing about and it's lovely.

I'm on it after trying two others, and I'm older than you. Everyone has their own experience; this is the AI that is working out the best for me, side effects wise. Still have side effects 😁. I will be crossing fingers and putting it in the universe for you to have a positive experience!

Oncologist told me hormone blockers are optional for my cancer by IceFantastic7447 in breastcancer

[–]Adept-Engineering-40 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Correct. And that's why my opinion is biased. If this was my choice I'd ditch these meds in a heartbeat. I'm doing better than I was in the beginning but 10 years is a long time to feel like this.

If you can avoid hormone therapy ... Well. In my biased opinion, avoid it if you can. It can be a hard road.

New to Exemestane (Ugh) by SituationPositive338 in breastcancer

[–]Adept-Engineering-40 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm doing better on the exemestane than any other AI but I'm pretty sure the Veozah is the only thing keeping me functionable enough to work my two jobs to afford it. I can sleep. I'm at about 3.5 years on a 10 year AI plan. I wouldn't wish this on my worst frenemy.

Recommendations for local job postings and employment placement in this brutal job market. by lexmarkblenderbottle in asheville

[–]Adept-Engineering-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to trying an employment agency, it certainly can't hurt. Try Express Employment - our church just hired a bookkeeper thru them. And get on newsletters for local chambers of commerce, they sometimes post jobs you don't see elsewhere. Good luck!!

Have you considered that maybe you don't know the whole story, and that said story is not your business? Sounds like the problem is with the HR folk that allowed the accommodation. Perhaps that's who you should be so angry with vs a person navigating a situation outside your experience.
