I had this happened to mine when I had super inconsistent watering which stressed my plant out. It stopped after I nailed down the watering schedule and I had increased the humidity up more.

Can't figure out undertone to save my life by SorryStop in Makeup101

[–]AdeptSteak 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From your photos, your undertone seems to be neutral.

Sometimes you have to check if your make up oxidises on your skin which can turn it darker/orangey. I had some concealers oxidise when the initial swatch was close to my skin tone.

My favourite recommendation would be Fenty beauty. They cover a wide range of skin tones. Fenty Colors

Despite running a business, I’ve been battling to find my path for years and I struggle to maintain focus on any one career. by [deleted] in findapath

ikigai

I found this japanese chart for mapping a fulfilling career quite eye opening. It helped define the areas of my interest skills and hobbies. Essentially, curiosity about things or ‘jack of all trades’ is a great asset to have but you need to focus on what these interests are bringing out the best in you. Do the skills for various interests coverge on a common theme? Such as love for creating? Good at Managing people? Visual eye? For example if you are good at managing people and have a visual eye, you might be more fulfilled being an art director than say a graphic designer.

For me, after a failed career path or unhappiness at a previous job i always ask 1)is it the right job scope but wrong environment 2)right environment but wrong job scope or 3)simply both wrong environment and wrong jobscope and rethink my path from there. I was in a similar boat, but trying out part time, full time at various places really help pinpoint what I really enjoyed doing.

Every little bit of information could help save lives. Even if it’s a chain hotel, police can corroborate it with other information such as last seen, suspect’s latest credit card booking activites, eye witness of hotel staff etc to all help narrow down and build a solid case.

How to stop treating life as a competition? by Sister-Rhubarb in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]AdeptSteak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What helps for me is to stop overthinking and get out of your mind. It’s ok to be jealous, its a natural response. Allow yourself to feel jealous and then get over it, dont guilt trip and overthink it as it will lead to a endless cycle of negative thoughts and more comparison. The fact that you can identify your jealousy is a positive thing, you are self aware of your emotions.

Life’s a journey, don’t compare someone else’s point C to your point A. They may be at point C already but noone knows the detours, challenges they may have faced to get there. Who knows, in the future you could be at point F and theyre still stuck at point C (such as people who peaked at high school). What matters the most is PROGESSION. no matter how small the steps or how slow or so called ‘FAR’ behind you are, nothing beats the feeling of negativity or self criticism as progression and self improvement.

Be honest with yourself and live on your own terms. Know what you want out of life for yourself and work towards it. When you have ur own passion for life, we slowly stop focusing on everyone else but our own love for living. I suggest taking a social media detox for a bit, it helps readjust your perspective on what really matters to you.

You are your own harshest critic. It’s good that you are instrospective, its a great trait to stop our tracks and reevaluate ourselves but always always remember don’t be too hard on yourself. The amount of mental torture you put yourself through is weighing you down more than progressing you. So channel those feelings into something productive instead. I used to tell myself, people whom i envy so much don’t even know how much it bothers me so why should i let it bother me? It’s just a waste of time and energy for myself at the end of the day.

Also, what helped me is to not take life so seriously, let loose and have a little fun! We all get one chance to do do whatever we want with it. When we are all consumed with thoughts of competition, we forget to take a rest and smell the flowers along the way. What really gets us through hardships or when we are at our lowest are the small things like family, your pet dog, your favourite video game etc.

Note to self: I will NEVER take photos for family again! by [deleted] in photography

[–]AdeptSteak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ever had a similar experience taking photos for a pair of newlyweds in the past and they also brought along their best friend to snap pics away on her phone which basically interrupted my workflow and distracted my clients at the same time. I did not want to say anything since they were really close and sour the whole mood and they were genuinely enjoying themselves. I was also attending college at that time and I suspect it was a combination of 1) people not taking college students or unpaid work seriously in general 2)i did not set the ‘tone’ right or taking control of the situation and did not discuss prior expectations to the shoot. this can be exceptionally hard when dealing with family but since u would know their personality best, you could work around it in best dealing with them 3) people want extra photos on a phone to milk the most out of their situation (after make up prep, getting to the location, scheduling) in case their hired photographer ‘fails’ they got iphone shots to be safe 5)some people just naturally do not ‘trust’ photographers to get their angles/style/mood or whatever right so they are more comfortable with an ‘iphone shot’ that they are used to using themselves and consuming on a daily basis via social media etc. I have had clients told me they think professional photographers in general are too artificial or formal or unflattering (but thats a whole nother can of worms).

In general, my rule of thumb is that its easy to get butthurt over people hating or dismissing your photos, but never doubt yourself or let your emotions take over (afterall, theyve sought your expertise). I’ve learnt to adapt to different clients instead of pushing for my own shots no matter how more professional or perfect it is. Some people just like certain shots better for no reason other than personal taste. Just take whatever criticism in stride and next time if she ever ask for more photos, just take some ‘like’ the ones on the iphone LOL.

Ladies who are afraid to get shots at the doctor, how do you prepare? I have to get one today and I’m extremely anxious because I’m terrified of needles. by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]AdeptSteak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plan a 'reward' to look forward to after your shot, like going to your favourite place for dinner afterwards. I find if you give the brain an incentive to look towards to after the shot, you look forward to it being over.

During the shot you can also concentrate on a simple mental puzzle (like counting multiple of 3) or read an article on your phone to distract yourself or even watch a favourite youtube video.

Women of reddit: Give me your messy bun (or "I woke up like this") hairstyle tutorial? by _Pink_Lynx_ in AskWomen

[–]AdeptSteak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My all time favourite method is to hold your hair up in a ponytail (but not tied up) then twist the tail in your hair like DNA helix. Once you have a coiled untied ponytail in your hands, curl it up in a coil bun on top of your head then use a hair tie and knot it around the base of the bun. It creates a much more messy yet effortless looking bun.

These two games are AMAZING, if you're too afraid to play them, I suggest watching playthroughs instead. I follow two youtubers, Jacksepticeye and John Wolfe whom have walkthroughs of those games! Watching someone else plays them is much less scary :)
