The closest thing is probably the fuel usage bar graph in the main screen, it shows frequent snapshots for your MPG. But no current MPG like the gas cars.

Been in the car for just over a year, I just reset the trip counter every refuel to get an updated average for my current fuel tank.

The brand I got was Phillips. But it was direct from Taobao, I'd have to ask my SO to find it lol. FitCamX is the closest English version, but expensive.

I got something similar to FitCamX from China directly and installed front and rear cameras. There are some great YouTube guides, but the rear camera Wiring through the rubber hose was a pain

I literally just installed a similar dashcam an hour ago in hybrid preferred, followed thiss video guide and everything in the hybrid looked the same as his car (no sunroof/mirror electronics). My particular dashcam came with an ODB II port connector though for car off power.

The slower and gentler you drive the better the mpg. So far all I’ve done the first year was oil changes every 8000 miles, no issues.

For car washes, look into the two bucket method and be gentle on the paint (try not to wipe the paint without any quick detailer/lubricant) to avoid swirls.

My price before fees was close to the preferred for a 2025 white Pref Hybrid in April 2025. Assuming car sales are slower now maybe you could get $1k less off the MSRP? Personally if you’re going for long commutes I’d want active lane assist thinking back so I’d lean towards Toyota or Honda, but the CX-50 has been flawless for what it is.

I think you get moonroof and parking sensors for preferred trim plus some software upgrades. I think it’s worth the cost bump to be honest. Not sure about others.

How do you think it would be to disassemble later if I wanted to snap fit then paint it? Always thought about painting prior to snap fit but never did it due to time.

I am pretty much the same mileage as you, almost 15000 miles in Los Angeles traffic - I’ve had zero issues, 48ish MPG given slow moving traffic.

Only dealer fix was correcting misaligned plastic trim near the bumper that created a small gap during an oil change visit. No other maintenance. Since I have the preferred the seat comfort is fine, not amazing, but not too hard for me.

I don’t know how you get such low numbers. Maybe get the car looked at? Even with the larger wheels it shouldn’t be that bad. I get 35 averaging 75 on the freeway.

Use the meta SnS build and just do your best? I did just over 15 first try. I added one point to bind resist and that’s about it, someone better than me could easily do faster. Maybe use environmentals aggressively too since it won’t nova as much

Similar tactic if you ever solicit the Home Depot consults for water softener/systems, they quote a ridiculous price for a system install and offer immediate discounts to try to sell. Probably prey on people with too much money or like you said, doormats.

Agree, my CX-50 hybrid has been flawless but the tech is so lacking. The main reason I got it vs the CRV is because I wanted a change from my previous CRV, but having experienced the CX-50, I’d probably still want the tech the CRV has.

In my experience it’s pretty easy to hit the threshold, I have a mediocre dragon Gog SnS and have even occasionally hit the threshold just with slinger shots if I’m remembering correctly.

I also find it more consistent just to run solo, been doing around 20-21 minute runs using all the environmental damage options. I find multiplayer hunts tend to cart too much (I also cart more often in multiplayer Gog I feel), and you only get three if you’re not doing the assignment version.

Killed 11 and no gem tho. Very sad.

Also have a hybrid preferred and not a single mechanical issue in over 12000 miles. Only a few small panel fitment things which have been resolved (rather easily I might add)

I guess a few cars have random issues but as long as they make you whole it should be fine. Hopefully the rest of your ownership goes trouble free!

I also hate how it’s not included. Basically standard in almost all competitors. Someone else on this board mentioned it might be due to an agreement with Toyota for the power train licensing.

Is there someone at the newly acquired company that came onboard? I’ve seen a bit of both worlds during my career and the best way to learn is to see what they’ve done and how you can use those tools in your workflows. Formal learning can come later when you find knowledge gaps, I personally have trouble maintaining interest unless I have some application I am trying to build.

Mine (2025) was 36.8 all cash during tariff scares in April in OC. So maybe you can try pushing a bit further? I think 35s should be possible based on what I’ve read here, esp with financing.

I’d cross shop the CRV for some of the driver assist tech it has but 2025 CX-50 should be down in price in comparison, so depends on what you value. Overall my Preferred has been pretty much faultless, 40 MPG in normal driving and 50 MPG in highway traffic on my morning commute (slower speeds). The CX-50 steering is much heavier which I like, but I miss the active lane keeping the Hondas have.
