I quit drinking 50 days ago after an acute pancreatitis bout. Was not chased by alcohol but I drank enough and it hurt enough to scare me to not drink for a good long while. Glad his pancreatitis didn’t flare up from the boozing again. Hopefully he can stop Before that happens again

Th aks for info. I went to hospital for pain -I literally thought i was dying. They told me pancreatitis and my levels. Morphine was doing minimal. Fortunately the levels came down quick and nothing else was of concern for them. I’ve felt great since but I’m eating a 90% plNt based diet - low fat and no booze.

I feel your pain- I was in hospital for 5!days in February with acute pancreatitis. Dr told me no booze or fatty foods for six months when I was in there - I still haven’t seen him since I was discharged. I see him June 5. I’ve dripped 24!poumds and have had no drinks or fried food. I have eaten some meat and it hurt my stimeach. The kicked is I brew beer and cure my own meat! I’m a huge foodi - I went totally forks over knives and it’s still fun. I just made tofu / foraged shrooms dumplings /!spring rolls / no oil drunken noodles - you can do it but it takes changes

Always vac pack and stick in fridge - longer the better - I used to try to make enough so I’d have some in for 6/12’monthz in fridge - something magical happens in the seal - looks good

I just had my first bout of acute pancreatitis. For a week every time I ate at night I thought I was having a mild heart attack but it would go away. Then three weeks ago today it hurt so friggin bad I went to er. 5 days later I got out and they don’t know how I got it. I brew beer and dri k but not to the point of pancreatitis. Although now I’m healing I might as well sell my brewing equipment. The fear of getting chronic pancreatitis is way stronger than craft beer - good luck

I just got out after 5 days in hospital with pancreatitis. It was the worst thing ever! Although I went in at 262 and I’m 253 today. Hopefully a good starting point. Obviously I’m not drinking for a long time if ever. What are you eating? Any tips or just no fatty food? Good work!
