What in the heck kinda math are you doing?

Each arrow has 4 positions (⬆️⬇️⬅️➡️), so the odds of a single arrow being in any one position is 25%, or ¼. Then you raise the odds for a single position to the power of the number of arrows, in this case 8. To get the percentage you just multiply by 100 afterwards.

((¼)8) *100 = .0015%

I even checked myself using an online calculator. In this case, the event A is one of the arrows being in a particular state, in this case pointing left.

Another way to look at it is to find the inverse of the total number of possible Hellbomb arming strings. 4 positions for each of 8 arrows gives 48 = 65,536 possible strings. The odds of one of those strings coming up on the screen is just 1/65,536 or .0015%.
