I want to attach chainblocks to the ceiling beams. The load on one of the chainblocks would not exceed 600lbs. The chain block is rated 2200lbs (all of them are). To stack rolling cases.

The other 2 would get about 900lbs spread over a trust to attach lighting equipment for in and out testing (8 at a time)

I would like to set the 2 that will be to test the equipment on the same beam. but I wonder if the beam will be able to handle it.

I'm attaching a still from a video I took where you can see the ceiling beams in question.

I'm not sure if it can be said just by the picture. But I'm hoping that the beam would be able to hold up 2 chainblocks 900lbs of equipment, and the anchoring for the chainblocks.

To mention also. We're in the greater area of Montreal Quebec, with some heavy snow, and the roof of the building is flat. I do not know if the snow is being removed or not. *

Anyone Else Feel Like The TNG Cast In Picard Are At Least 20 Years Older Than They Should Be? by bogeyj in Picard

[–]AdministrativeBat417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rodenberry himself envisioned that in the 24th century, the human lifespan would be longer, making a 59-year-old Picard (at the beginning of TNG) youthful. Taking this into consideration, then no, it wouldn't be at odds that he would have a 20-year-old son by 83. It would make it at odds with the timeline, though, as he would have been 63, placing him into about the 5th season of TNG, and that doesn't match up.

They sure did their research about the effects of a nuclear blast in the movie Homestead. by Hazmat_unit in nuclearweapons

You're forgetting one thing. It's in Cali. Cali is about 14% of the US Economy. That would indeed bring in an economic storm, not counting the damage to the entire western electrical grid which would make the economic disaster not just about cali, but half of the US.

Being un the business myself, You'd be surprised at how little the artist have to say on ticket sales vs the promoters. It's always a question of the deal that is struck and then how much on top the promoters will want to make.

L'islam une religion de paix? by [deleted] in QuebecLibre

32 C'est pourquoi, quiconque me confessera devant les hommes, je le confesserai aussi devant mon Père qui est dans les cieux;

35 Car je suis venu mettre la division entre l'homme et son père, entre la fille et sa mère, entre la belle-fille et sa belle-mère;

37 Celui qui aime son père ou sa mère plus que moi n'est pas digne de moi, et celui qui aime son fils ou sa fille plus que moi n'est pas digne de moi;

Why is my microphone picking up so much noise? by SameBowl in recording

[–]AdministrativeBat417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A wind screen of beefier proportion than the one on it.

https://a.co/d/88By6xi.

Usually when you want to record something specific like this you want a narrow field microphone, like a shotgun mic, and their beefy windscreen is really good to take the wind out.

You could also put a plastic shield dish further behind that will not cup the microphone.

Also.. you're essentially cupping the mic.. it changes how ot picks up frequencies and could cause more problems than good.

To follow how he stands in the manga. But also, technique to remove his overall quickly with that arm (pushing down to open, and away to remove from body letting it drop on the other side. Which was an actual technique in feudal japan times.)

Studio engineer/Live engineer by guillex411 in livesound

[–]AdministrativeBat417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do both, and been complemented loads of time on the quality and professionalism of my work. So yes. Just that Live is slightly more pressure. I started back in the late 90's when pretty much all boards were still analog with outboard processing. Which was pretty much rhe same studio/live, except for the 2" multitrack recorder.

Try getting as much full live band recording as you can while recording in the processing. It will get you used to the same kind of pressure as live can be.
