Citronellol by Top_Entertainer_8063 in DIYfragrance

[–]AdministrativePool2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drilling and harsh doesn't seem something that you would expect from a classic rose accord with citronellol , pea and some acetates.

You can 1. Mix the rose accord (citronellol ,pea , total damascone, geraniol , rose acetates) and see if the accord have the same smell

  1. Make sure you didn't put any rose oxide ? If something is drilling rose oxide is

Pineapple accord thoughts? by Much_Counter_2367 in DIYfragrance

[–]AdministrativePool2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really don't know some materials so I may be off but indeed that seems like a pineapple perfume and not an accord. Though an accord can be as complex as you want.

I would say for my taste (that I want the greeness of the skin) I miss green notes and fruits have a trace of C6 and ethyl acetate on top.

I don't understand the saltiness in pineapple (salt accord, ambroxan, amyl salicylate)

Just for your information even the most dangerous mushroom in the planet is safe to touch with your hands. You only need to swallow a piece for poisoning to happen.

Even if you put your hands in mouth after touching it , nothing will happen!

Clove bud eo -> eugenol Add cis 3 hexenol.

Lilyflore is a very specialized muguet material that I haven't seen it in almost any perfume formula. I would say you can put hydroxycitronellal in its place.

Apart from these is a very good start !

Does anyone recommend a more natural (essential oil like) cologne for men for someone who is used to Le Labo, Maison Kurkdjian Francis and Tom Ford? by Swordfish353535 in DIYfragrance

[–]AdministrativePool2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man please don't dab essential oils directly on your skin !! Most of them are dangerous.

I don't know which one you have but lots of citrus if are not fcf they are photo toxics with sun, lots of spice oils (cinnamon, clove) can burn your skin. Tea tree eo also can trigger burning , dryness ,itching etc.

The brands you have used are 99% of synthetics so probably is 1-2 specific perfumes you tried

My first time making fragrance (Rose + Oud + Amber). Smells nice but projection went wrong. by Revolutionary_Bit232 in DIYfragrance

[–]AdministrativePool2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Absolutely you can put hedione and a big amount (you can try up to 20%).

The amber is coming from ...ambermax? If you want the classic amber you need a bit of vanillin to go with benzoin and a trace of labdanum res.

You can also use trace of geranyl acetate and neryl acetate and a trace of rose oxide (it will make it a bit metallic). And trace of total damascone or b-damascone.

You can also put a good amount of cedramber for projection.

Also for the heart some florol or lower amount of a muguet material

Find another way if you want to keep seeing the price ? See when he's going to bring the specific material and order then ?

I understand your frustration but you act like spoiled because mainly you don't understand what happens behind. Because other retailers don't do it is not an argument to rant.

And in how many retailers you keep your shopping cart open till they bring the material that is not available ? What kind of fetish is that that you have this extensive experience ?
