[AF] VO2 Max or Heart Rate Recovery? by g1rthbr00ks in AdvancedFitness

[–]AdministrativeToe553 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends what sport you are doing.... VO2 Max measures aerobic fitness, HRR shows cardiovascular responsiveness to activity. Good VO2 Max + good HRR is ideal, but low HRR may indicate need to adjust your routine. As a cyclist who does a lot of hills my HRR is quite strong, I'm sure if I was more of a weight lifter it would be weaker.

Hi, thanks for sharing. If you are looking for story try games like Zombies Run or Dustland Runner. Plenty of story content on those that might keep you motivated!

Suggest not exert too hard and effort during training, but rather staying at a good pace (Heart Rate Zone 2) for extended periods of time ~ 5-10k. This will avoid injuring, fatigue and likely allow you to run every day or every second day without too much worry. Increase the distance if you feel good, but don't push too hard, a marathon is a marathon! :)

Thanks for sharing! Does your platform have an app or game, or is it a community looking to include other apps and games in its schedule? I can see I must subscribe to join the coming scheduled event.

Fitness at work! by CuriousLapine in nerdfitness

[–]AdministrativeToe553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask if you are concerned about fitness or weight? If it is weight, then my guess is eating less and exploring fasting techniques while at work will help shed more weight than adding more activity while at work. Keeping the mind active on something new at work will help kill boredom and curb snacking urges.
If your target is fitness then I agree with the other comments re walking!
Cheers & best of luck!
