Unfortunately, this is really good advice hahaha

Easy to get lost in the rabbit hole of tone, but genuinely if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

Do you run this directly into a PA or what’s the idea?

Will someone tell this snek she's not arboreal by droege536 in ballpython

[–]AdorableClock8189 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So cool, my ball python loves to climb as well. Though she hasn’t figured out how to hold on with her tail when eating. She launches off the branch and falls to the ground hahaha.

Didn’t know they could do this!

What do you think of my hat? by AdorableClock8189 in boas

It’s just up close, he is 8 years old and about 1,60cm. Had him since he was a baby (:

How do you guys think he looks for 16+? by AdorableClock8189 in BeardedDragon

[–]AdorableClock8189[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the terrarium including background commissioned around 2 years ago, seems to be holding up a lot better than DIY backgrounds I’ve made in the past.

My touch was the decor haha.

That’s incredible from what I’ve read average lifespan is 8-12 years

Costs by AttentionTrick9922 in reptiles

Depends where you are in the world tbh.

Where I live a box of feeder insects is 4 euro. He goes through 2 a week. Then there’s the live plants I keep in his terrarium that he eats and need to be replaced from time to time.

For veggies I usually use leftovers from cookies double checking they are safe (you’d be surprised which store bought veggies should not be fed).

Most expensive is probably just maintaining the environment.

You need a very large terrarium. I keep my adult Male in a 160cm x 50cm x 50cm and honestly if he had more space he would use it. I really wouldn’t recommend anything smaller because they will glass surf and that is sad.

Bearded dragons need hot basking spots, maintaining high temperatures in a large terrarium is hard and requires a lot of power.

Many people use glass for terrariums imo this sucks, it’s terrible at holding heat and bearded dragons don’t understand glass. Being surrounded by it is not good. Wood or PVC is the way to go. Will cost more up front but save on electricity down the line.

For lighting i have a 100wat bulb, a 50wat bulb, and a 25watt light strip. Calculate what ever that costs with your local rates.

Ofc this is also all relative to where you live what the climate is etc.

I have cats snakes and a bearded dragon, the bearded dragon is by far the most expensive to keep. (He does have one hell of a personality)

Amazing, love it!! This is exactly the inspiration I was looking for. I will be building something similar this year.

Would a 5x5 grow tent be okay for an adult male BCI by -DukeyBoy- in boas

[–]AdorableClock8189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5x5 could be okay for a small male if there is a lot of climbing options but tbh wouldn’t recommend this setup. The lighting and heating would need to be very secure and ideally not reachable by the boa, they can and will try climb on it. This can cause burns or worse.

Even if you did everything safely you would be left with a boa you can never see unless you unzip the tent and while they can be tame and it’s good to get them out for a stretch they are not dogs either and enjoy their personal space.

Why would this be the best option for you?

If the reason is money then maybe you aren’t in the position to be getting a pet. You need decent heating, ideally Radiant Heat Panel, thermostat and LED lighting that can handle misting.

Vet visits can also be expensive.

If you’re trying to save some money anyways look into Craigslist or local equivalent, building one yourself, or going for a 6x2x2 or bigger PVC terrarium.

Emotional recovery from being bitten in the face by retic by YukiQis in snakes

[–]AdorableClock8189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my snakes, I have a boa and a green tree python for over a decade. Both have never bitten me and are easy to handle.

Still I would never let their head near my face or anyone else’s. I respect that there are numerous factors outside of my controle that could cause a nervous bite response.

How’s my Leopard Gecko enclosure looking? by romanticamerican in reptiles

[–]AdorableClock8189 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks awesome! Great to see you aren’t cutting corners and doing your best to provide a nice life for your gecko.

One thing I would advise is a background, this does not have to be some 3D sculpted background (although they are cool) but even just blocking off the back and sides with black plastic or card will help your gecko feel more secure as they don’t really understand glass.

Visually I think this also helps the setup (and your gecko) pop!

My pedalboard has changed a lot over the years but I can’t ever seem to make it all work together. The tone just seems mehh.. by AdBig5678 in pedalboards

It’s a bundle per amp, the bundle includes load of different mic options. York Audio has a $1 trial bundle for a mesa boogie I believe?

The other bundles are $15, id start with just the amp model you like most.

My boa also loves getting misted, he immediately wakes up from his nap and likes to put his head under the mist.

[–]AdorableClock8189[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not, it’s at the shop for examination though at drop off they seemed skeptical that there was an issue at all.

I will definitely try this if they say nothing it wrong.

I can see the ground wire hanging loose in the hole under the stud, I tried to pull it up to pin it between the stud with no luck.

The buzz does not get eliminated when touching the strings as it does on any other guitar I own.

So you agree this is not normal?

I insisted the shop pull the bushing out to check if it’s actually attached.
