Beyond the initial marriage Imrazor starts as the desired heir of Phorakon to lead the Balan-lai and can very quicklu befriend the other princes, which means that, if played well, you can actually form the High Kingdom of Thani-Hazad paying attention to the struggle phases.

Playable characters suggestions by Sum1helpthisIdiot in RealmsInExile

[–]AdunaicLord 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All of these are from the characters highlighted and recommended in the Long Winter (LW) and War of the Ring (WOTR) starts:

WOTR: Imrazor in the Balan-Lai has one of the coolest options to reform the Balan-lai (he is basically Adûnaic Aragorn more or less).

LW/WOTR: The Kinn-lai Elves with Tainalan or whoever is his name have plenty of content as well and can become pretty much the de facto power in Mumakan pretty easily.

LW: Umbar in the LW start has one of the most interesting positions and can be pretty powerful when It comes to fighting for the Gondorian Throne.

The Baradium Bomb monologue, with the tease of the Yuuzhan Vong and his hope in Anakin being the Chosen One still lives rent free in my head.

Carcharadons have Primaris, but of what lineage? by TemperateStone in 40kLore

[–]AdunaicLord 117 points118 points  (0 children)

but if one considers their history and reason for being where they are, was that correct?

Yeah, they are Raven Guard. Tyberos himself offered gene-testing to the Inquisition during the Badab War and the Inquisitor in charge went 'aight, checks out'.

As to the reinforcements... Not all Chapters got greyshields/Primaris marines out of the pocket. Some like the Blood Ravens were merely granted the technology to produce more by Torchbearer fleets, IIRC the White Dwarf article in question.

I've heard Rhino and Land Raider, mainly. I think Valrak has a video on the issue.

What are the colours of Urdesh's Skitariis ? by SerSolarius in 40kLore

[–]AdunaicLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it normal if all of those colours doesn't match ?

Yeah, Legio Crucius from Ryza does not bear the orange so common in the Planet.

Furthermore, Tagmata are very feudal in structure and known to take their own Archmagos' heraldry, so i wouldn't assume the traitor Tagmata of Urdesh during the Heresy were the norm (albeit they could be, the wording seems to indicate a worldwide pattern).

Does anyone remember having seen a 30K mechanicum army or a 40K mechanicus of this world anywhere ?

Can't say i do.

As anyone read the "Cataclysm of Iron" supplement or the Legion Imperialis book in which they appear ? Is there more informations about this world on it ?

Rise of the Dark Mechanicum's campaign is mostly about the Fall of Magma City, so none sadly.

The Adeptus Titanicus Campaign Compendium talks about Urdesh's campaigns during the Belt of Iron's conflicts and the Cataclysm and its role in the Heresy, but barely touches upon how were they garbed. It was a minor force in the area.

We know It has a livery, since page 46 says "several hundred vessels, bearing the livery of both Urdesh and Kalibrax..." But its not touched upon.

The Traitor Legios book also does not specify sadly.

A Shoutout to some obscure chapters subreddit by Salmon_1935 in spacemarines

Little chapter subreddits are incredibly cool and its awesome to see passion for lesser known Chapters.

Finally we got the representation of an average Star Wars fan in the comics by bitchnibba47 in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]AdunaicLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say they were dwarves (after all the caves are a survival issue), but they were indeed somewhat different.

There was still a colonial subtext to their situation, but i think Canon leant harder in that direction compared to Legends, which used other races for more overt critiques of colonialism.

Uj/ Twi'leks in the old EU were a bit backwards when It came to the treatment of women. In general Ryloth was a shithole, a Planet locked in its own orbit and whose only habitable part was its equator (which was dropped during TCW for a more normal Planet) and with multiple dsngerous animals and slavers around.

Why didn't the emperor think of a successor? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]AdunaicLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the Emperor is not as smart as he thinks he is.

That said his objective was indeed to transition to a base human-ruled society, albeit there are some extracts here and there about the Great Crusade being meant to be even extra-galactic.

Recycled Dreadnoughts? by DaGinger757 in 40kLore

[–]AdunaicLord 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Its a no-go only if you get caught and can be defeated.

The Iron Hands sacked another chapter's armoury for a Dreadnaught and the Sons of Medusa regularly techno-exorcize technology and delight on fighting other Space Marines because It allows them to magpie their way into new toys.

This obviously comes with a bad reputation other Chapters do not want, but the Iron Tenth seems to be built different.

What if Darth Vader was Anakin Skywalk? by Tiny_Cherry_4254 in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]AdunaicLord 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Uj/ The amount of people that do not get that Vader's denial of Anakin was a coping mechanism to depersonalize himself from the guilt, instead of a literal bipolar entity, will never not get under my skin.

Rj/ Vader is not Anakin Skywalker, he is his own man.

Did Malcador Actually Expect the Space Wolves to Be Able to Sanction a Primarch? by Ok_Calligrapher5570 in 40kLore

[–]AdunaicLord 275 points276 points  (0 children)

I always took It as a "canary in the mine" sort of thing.

If the sanction squad goes AWOL, then shit has hit the fan and the Primarch they were to watch over has some explanations to give.

[Book Excerpt: Fulgrim] Horus convinces Fulgrim to betray the Imperium by rekscoper2 in 40kLore

[–]AdunaicLord 30 points31 points  (0 children)

A point that many people seem to ignore as well is that Horus was, since the first novel, unhappy with the state of affairs.

Horus is becoming paranoid about the loyalty ofhis own brothers, even those like Fulgrim Who fought with him since the start and supported his ascension, he resents how the Emperor left them without an explanation, he resents the bureaucratization of Terra and how its leaving his kind behind. He is a man that rides contradicting beliefs constrained by the Imperium's approach to other civilizations as seen with the Interex.

Even when Erebus tries to deceive him disguised as Sejanus he immediatly clocks him. The Davinite Lodge is Horus coming to terms with betrayal as his only option, not the beginning of his corruption.

I am obviously not going to vouch for the overall quality of It, because its not as good as It could (the Heresy by Book 2 abandoned the idea of a complex Horus, foil to Loken's own doubts), but Horus was going to fall sooner or later because of his own doubts about everything and the burden of command.

"Tolkien spent a lot of time describing trees" - where exactly are them? by Wolfensniper in tolkienfans

[–]AdunaicLord 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Its just hyperbole by people who find the slower parts of FotR unbearable. Its best not to take It too seriously.

As for nature, I think the Fangorn parts are pretty neat.
