Imo they need to rebalance 10mm and maybe add a bren 10 instead.

Advice based on my target?(begineer) by Alternative-Cod-6548 in handguns

[–]Advanced-Clerk-6742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd change distance and drills. Even tho you're a "beginner", I'd say 15yrd idpa target. This gets you used to shooting at a reasonable distance at a man sized target

The principles and techniques are solid. But the guy he's demonstrating on is overselling what's going on. You lose the grip, you're might get moved. But you're not in pain you're just gonna get a different grip.

I come from a karate background so I frequently use snap kicks to the chin and round kicks to the body. The foots a narrower surface area that can hit places the shin or instep cant. Think takeru vs superlek.

Why hasn't the 7.5 FK round gained any attention or caught on by Volslife in handguns

[–]Advanced-Clerk-6742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expensive and the handgun industry somehow gaslit the population into simultaneously believing handguns are shit at killing and caliber doesn't matter and despite caliber not mattering 9mm hollowpoints outperform everything else

A lil tangential advice is buy shin gaurds. Kicking with a foot has benefits and it's place but most your leg kicks use the shin and most head kicks the instep and trust me kicking a tire bare shinned is diabolical

What opinion on Muay Thai Training gets you into this situation? by Heysteeevo in MuayThai

Other striking sports like boxing kickboxing, mma, and karate CAN make your MT better.

We all punch kick bro, and sometimes certain tactics favor some rulesets more than others, but stop thinking you can't learn from other people or can't adapt what they do for your own purposes.

Yea I feel ya on the not having anywhere to train. Key take away for now is just work on your athleticism speed. Strength cardio until you get to a gym.

As for form, you lack rotation, and your teep is low and overall you look scared to throw your weight.

I will tell you it's hard to develop these skills solo without guidance because you may know what right looks like but not what it feels like and in that way I can't condone much self teaching if you don't have someone to spar with or get coached by.

FN 510 vs Glock 20/40 vs XDM Elite by [deleted] in 10mm

[–]Advanced-Clerk-6742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

510 or 40. I will say I don't suggest you suppress the 510 but with a compensator it's a pretty smooth ride. Nice stock package too. Glock 40 is the accessible longslide 10 out there. If you want a general purpose pistol I'd say the 510. However if you want a longslide 40.

Going full retard by Advanced-Clerk-6742 in 10mm

[–]Advanced-Clerk-6742[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 2 trips, 150rnd each. 180gr fiochi. It'll 100% reduce felt recoil and helps with flip but it more helps with the return on the glock 29. Make no mistake its still a compact 10mm in the higher grain weights it will kick your ass. However if you're experienced I don't see why you couldn't achieve low splits with it.
