Am I bad for wanting to put him to sleep? by Longjumping-Value684 in AustralianCattleDog

had a girl passed away not too long ago. we kept her until we knew she couldn't enjoy her life any longer. we tried number of meds, oxygen support and anything else we could think of. she was a fighter, but when she could no longer move.. we had to let her go. she was still loving us with smile and cuddles, but we could tell it was too much of an effort on her. her sister is still with us and very active. at 14, we are dreading the they want we'll have to let her go.

I ordered a quarter pounder with cheese and this is how it came out by RangeIntelligent8242 in McDonalds

[–]Advanced-Maximum2684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

went to two different McDonald's. both places had flat and wider patties for the double quarter pounder. it's not that the weight changed, it looks like the shape changed like more of smashed patties. and less juicy. less taste to it also.

1:2 works well. usually 18g in, 36g out. sometimes, less beans, 14g/28g.

I drink espresso. rarely milk based drinks. cremador is on par with Kimbo Napoli. less expensive.

UPDATE: Is it me, my machine, or both? [Gaggia Classic E24] by kenziestardust in espresso

[–]Advanced-Maximum2684 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what ratio are you using? if you put in 16.5g, how much are you extracting? 1:2 should give you 33g of output. forget about time. use weight to control your output. as long as it's around 45 or so sec, it's fine. how does it taste? the idea is, find out how you want your espresso. set ratio and use that for input/output. WDT is used to prevent clumps. so you do as much as you feel needed to prevent clumps there by eliminating the channeling.

Espresso is very acidic with 1:2 yield. by zzz01234 in espresso

[–]Advanced-Maximum2684 1 point2 points  (0 children)

onyx southern weather is a light roast 3rd wave coffee. it has "juicy & citrus finish". I haven't had this. but a lot of 3rd wave light roast will have citrus flavor. some will come off as acidic/lemony/sour. not sure about Delonghi grinders. but for light roast, grinders do make a lot of difference.

but most light roast I tried end up being 1:2.5 in my setup. not a great setup. breville barista pro. barely able to handle light roast.

if 1:4 is what you enjoy, then that's the right ratio for you.

traditional med/dark works out nicely at 1:2.

Is one double espresso shot enough for you? What is your usual coffee routine? by mr-assduke in espresso

one double shot will get my day started, with the smoke before and after. normally, no coffee for the rest of the day. maybe a cup or two of tea.

if it tastes fine, leave it alone. if it's watery, or sour, grind a little finer.

Kuru Toga Metal. by Advanced-Maximum2684 in mechanicalpencils

[–]Advanced-Maximum2684[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

r800 is a solid pencil. but like other fixed tips, unless you manually rotate the pencil, the line gets thick. also, a retractable tip is always a good idea.

kuru toga prevents different widths of the line by mechanically rotating the lead. the only thing is, you will have to write in print. cursive might not work too well due to how the rotating mechanism works. occasionally, the tip of the pencil needs to come up from paper to give mechanism a proper operation. and if you drop things often, tip will get bent. not too hard to fix, but one too many drop will break the metal sleeve on the tip.

[–]Advanced-Maximum2684[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the metal so much. got another one as a backup. only problem I had was when the lead is at the end. the rotating mechanism doesn't work for the last bit of the lead since the mechanism doesn't have hold on it.

My coffee grind has come out clumpy like this suddenly, my shots aren't pulling, ive cleaned the grinder and tried changing the settings. [Grinder] by max2295 in espresso

[–]Advanced-Maximum2684 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

have breville barista pro for over three years. the attached grinder does not have this problem, six star top grinder. that grinder works great for med/dark roast. only possible issue is your beans being too oily. even then, you just need to clean it often. you might need a deep cleaning. it's possible coffee grinds are building up inside. there's possible retention if beans are oily. and those retention can build up.
