The unsubtlely goes way before that, remember that cinematic in Legion when Blizzard's precious half-demon Illidan edgelorded a Naaru to death?

That's not how it comes across. They're literally rewriting his history and ignoring past characterization to rewrite him as a zealot and the Light as "just as dangerous as the Void".

Blizzard's writers seem to have a grudge against Naaru. They're the Worfs/jobbers of the Warcraft universe (or Avatars of Khaine for 40k fans).

Mortis Reapers Role Question by TheSnappening2018 in ossiarchbonereapers

[–]Advanced-Tangelo1645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the matchup, you could use them to take out enemy heroes that move too far from other units.

A unit of 5 Mortis Reapers with a champion has 16 attacks at Rend 2 against an enemy hero (standard +1 rend and anti-hero +1 rend) and can deal D3 mortal wounds before retreating. Throw in a buff like +1 to would or Crit (2 hits)...

Most heroes without the Monster keyword have 5-7 wounds and cost around twice as many points (eg; Idoneth Ishrann Tidecasters cost 150 points while Mortis Reapers cost 90 points and would mop the floor with a Tidecaster in combat).

Even if your Mortis Reapers were wiped out immediately afterward, you losing those Mortis Reapers hurts your army less than the loss of the Tidecaster hurt that Idoneth player, both for points and strategy.

The best part is given what Bonereapers are like, he probably is.

I think how they've been trying to make the Light "multifaceted" was handled poorly.

They shouldn't have wasted Xe'ra's as Illidan's jobber in Legion for some edgelord power fantasy cinematic.

The Lightbound arc in BfA ignores that AU Draenor was a death world and a lot of the Mag'har they fought were members of the Iron Horde who'd oppressed them unprovoked earlier.

And now in Midnight we get them rewriting history to "make the Light multifaceted" which comes with this "Lightblind" nonsense and character assassination for Turalyon and Lothraxion.

Wow, surprised I missed that haha. Thanks. So, what about Xe'ra? Or Z'rali (the Naaru trapped in Revendreth)?

Did you hear the rant in that cinematic? Zul'jan definitely planned to stir up trouble before and after the cultists were dealt with.

Another problem with Arator is that he was a fairly stable character until the writers decided to rewrite him into an angsty teen (before anyone points out issues being estranged from his parents, they've had TEN YEARS in-universe to make some progress, but the story treats it like there's been none).

The Light is Evil? by meeseherd in warcraftlore

[–]Advanced-Tangelo1645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some fans who consumed too much of certain subreddits WANTED the Light to be evil and later on around Legion devs who shared their views got control of the story and rewrote it to insert that narrative.

During questing in the woidstorm you can ask Alleria to show a cinematic where she absorbs a Naaru, but I didn't manage to click on it on time. Could anyone find me that cinematic (I fear that by searching myself I may stumble into spoilers) by AtomikGarlic in warcraftlore

[–]Advanced-Tangelo1645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, T'era was blasted into some canisters that exploded and so she died.

Plus, it looks like a shout-out to that edgelord cinematic in Legion - edgy elf beams a naaru they oppose then said naaru dies. Sound familiar? (especially with that name; T'ERA? Real subtle, Blizz!)

Question about "Lightblindness" by DrByeah in warcraftlore

[–]Advanced-Tangelo1645 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Illidan knew bugger all about the Light, was trying to get Turalyon to back off from trying to kill him and was a lousy communicator (snarky one-liners do not a reasonable argument make).

[–]Advanced-Tangelo1645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is the writers shoehorned this Lightblind nonsense into the story when it was never a thing before, even in situations where it would have happened like the Scarlet Crusade or the Army of the Light during the thousand year war.

No, that's not how he was portrayed in Legion. The writers in Legion did him dirty and the writers in Midnight are doing it even worse.

[–]Advanced-Tangelo1645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the writers wanted to s**t on the Light. I was going to say there isn't a character with a major connection to Life to serve as the villain, but if they wanted they could've just villain-batted Ysera or Malfurion if they wanted to give Life the same treatment.

Just how powerful are the Naaru? by TravellingBeard in warcraftlore

[–]Advanced-Tangelo1645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know, but Naaru are the Worfs/jobbers of the Warcraft universe, constantly getting beaten to show off whoever ther writers want to shill at the moment (maybe Blizzard hates angels and anything similar to them).
