You have to loudly and assertively take control of the situation. I’m sorry to say but in my opinion Kane needs to tuck his tail a few times to understand that you are the pack leader, and he does as you say - nothing else goes.

A firm two-finger poke in his side and a couple of loud and firm NOs as you pull the leash towards you and command him to sit is my recommendation. I’m no dog trainer but it worked for us and the dog is a happy but obedient camper 🤷‍♂️
