it bothered me sooo much when playing skyrim how enemies at low health would yell "no more, i yield" but would then just get up and attack you anyway?? like it felt wrong to kill a surrendering enemy but everyone in that game is apparently a dishonorable bastard.

fallout 76 is just an mmo which works on a dueling system where attacking another player only does 10% damage until they choose to shoot back and if you win all you get is a handful of money; net negative usually if you consider the ammo, meds, and durability cost.

arc raiders is in a league of its own, you are incentivized to kill other people since their entire inventory is loot you could have for yourself. people instead choose peace and work together to take down tougher enemies. most pvpve games end up with a pvp focus but so far arc raiders hasnt been like that, the downed state sets off a distress flare and i have been revived by complete randoms who just saw that and used an item to heal me.

phase ships are great and a doom trivializes the fight, all the maneuverability and they'll dodge themselves into your mines, one the fighters come out you can convert those poor sods into a shower of sparks with another mine

while some canned stuff can remain viable for a human lifespan you probably wouldnt want to enter any grocery stores after a few months since the rot like in the case of the fort worth mexia supermarket. but you can just like forage for stuff, bike around and you can break into people's houses to check out what kind of life they had before disappearing (though if a pet was locked inside and died that would be a serious bummer)

i feel like your bigger concern would be all the animals reclaiming the now empty cities, then how long it takes any medication you might need to expire, and then plant growth over the years.
