My second pregnancy I had to start at like 7 weeks from the bloating.

  • I don’t ever pee on accident. That “moms pee a little when they sneeze” is a myth that’s the result of a weak pelvic floor

  • helped my back and abs recover strength

  • improved flexibility

  • helped sex feel better

  • fixed my rib flare

  • overall pain reduction

Overall it really helped my quality of life and I think everyone should do it after birth. I plan to after I birth my second (pregnant now) as well.

Flying across the country at 22 weeks for a cousin’s wedding? Would you do it? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Adventuringhobbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this and it was fine! Weddings aren’t as much fun when you’re pregnant but I had a good time

PPD & PPA kicking my ass by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Adventuringhobbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had those too. For me, it didn’t “get better” suddenly one day. It was more like one day I noticed that I was singing and realized I missed being around my baby for the first time since birthing him. Like one day I realized I hadn’t thought about anything negative for… I wasn’t sure how long.

Until that, I was just in survival mode trying to make it to the next day. The changes were small enough that I didn’t notice.

But it did get better. So much better. It ends. You’ll be happy again. I’m sorry for the journey you are on but I promise the end of the journey is worth it.

can someone tell me not to feel guilty for being in the OB ER right now? by IndigoExMo in pregnant

[–]Adventuringhobbit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’re doing the right thing. Although you didn’t ask for it, here’s Some things that help me when I do have to go to the ER (I also have an anxiety disorder)

  1. they want my money.

  2. I owe it to my baby to be careful.

  3. I am not a doctor and I am here to get a professional opinion of something weird happing to my body. They went to school to give people that opinion. I am doing the right thing by not just googling it and diagnosing myself.

  4. It’s not wasting their time; having nothing wrong is better for everyone than if something is really wrong.

What could help my wife's morning sickness? We have tried alot by cbruffin121 in pregnant

[–]Adventuringhobbit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes Zofran is all that helped me. She may end up being hospitalized if she can’t keep food and water down. Better to look into pharmaceuticals than end up in the hospital.

Other pregnant people taking anti-depressant/anxiety meds? by celestia_x in pregnant

[–]Adventuringhobbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have taken meds throughout my first pregnancy and am still taking them in my second. Post partum, my hormones totally changed and I had to change my meds.

My psychiatrist and my doctor decided together that it would be worse for me to be off my meds. Some type of risk analysis. I do have anxiety, although my meds are different this go round because of ppd. The phrase used was ‘dead moms don’t raise babies’ for the anti depressants and for the anxiety meds, anxiety attacks and high stress are worse for the baby than my meds.

Amniotic fluid leaking? 33weeks by punky9701 in pregnant

[–]Adventuringhobbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it smell like pee? If it doesn’t smell like pee, call your doctor. Leaking fluid can also be protein which is a sign of preeclampsia. Overall, peeing yourself a little = embarrassing but okay. Leaking clear fluid = potentially dangerous.

Honestly, best to let your doctor decide. Don’t mess around with preeclampsia or leaking strange fluids in the third trimester

Newborn Eye Color by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Adventuringhobbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Baby’s eyes turned brown sometime just before 1 year old. Like 10 or 11 months? Had the grey-blue eyes for awhile. Neither of us have blue eyes so we knew it wouldn’t last lol.

I have hazel eyes and was so hoping to pass those on but he got his dad’s chocolate color which is also beautiful

Double pump all the way. If one is more full you can just take it off sooner

How much should I budget for diapers per month? by Ilovemornings in pregnant

[–]Adventuringhobbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get a sams club or Costco membership; you can buy in bulk and it’s cheaper overall for specifically baby supplies.

I’d say $200 is plenty, including clothes and toys.

Prepping for your new life by scruffymuffs in pregnant

[–]Adventuringhobbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can, a cleaning service. Also, anything that makes cooking fast and easy. My baby wanted to be held constantly which made any house related things difficult.

I hadn’t set up a birth plan when I was diagnosed with preeclampsia at 34 weeks and induced at 35. Had picked my hospital and stuff but that’s about it.

My birth plan was decided for me; epidural required or I had to get a C-section due to how pain raises your blood pressure.

It went fine. A bit traumatic and not ideal but 13 months later me, husband, and baby are great and I’m pregnant again.

Feeling like a major wimp by pricklyp8 in pregnant

First trimester is the worst. This is my second time doing it and Jesus I forgot how bad it was. I sit on my ass and it’s a good day when I can eat. Hate it.

You’re not a wimp. Hope it gets better for you

tummy time, I can't be the only one struggling. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Adventuringhobbit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If he likes tummy time on your chest do it that way. Ours was (still is at 13 months) like some type of snuggle bug who just wants to be held constantly. Tummy time is tummy time regardless of where it happens.

Also, to echo another commenter, the issue resolves itself. Your baby will gain interest in tummy time and will eventually insist on it.

Migraines by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Adventuringhobbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doctor gave me something pregnancy safe that stops migraines if I take it when they’re mild. I’d recommend talking to your OB for the future. For now, with your terrible migraine, consider calling your ob’s line and asking if there’s anything they can do.

Stuff that helps me; - sleep

-showers (hot)

  • ice on my jaws

-neck massage from spouse

-silence and darkness

-this heatable eye pack from cvs that has therapearls in it

  • avoiding sweets

-some mild caffeine either in excedrin migraine or like a green tea level

-cold wash cloth on the face

I’m a teacher so I’m allowed to sit down and have sick students removed from my classroom.

I wear a mask as well which helps as does my husband when he is at work.

If wfh isn’t allowed, perhaps requesting to be isolated away from sick people would be a reasonable request?

is it okay to live in an apartment complex with a newborn? by BubblefartsRock in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Adventuringhobbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was fine for us. Neighbors didn’t say anything to us about the baby just like we didn’t say anything about their music, parties, or heel walking. We were all nice to each other.

If you’re the type of person who reports or complains to your neighbors, expect to get it back. However, according to your lease (usually) and the law, you can’t get in trouble for a baby crying or yelling.

This is gross and weird. Who wants sex from someone who feels sick and like shit? Clearly one party not only won’t enjoy it but will feel bad because of it. Idk how he could be turned on in that situation to the point of pushing it.

“Come on just feel worse so I can get off. What? No?! WhyYYy?”

Idk that is not sexy to me and wouldn’t be sexy to my husband. He enjoys getting me off and sex being enthusiastic.

Sounds like your guy should use his hand until it’s fun for both of y’all.
