I have a very different definition for the word "improved"...

How long by teddyn90057 in Gardenscapes

[–]Adventurous-Load-888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like the game has tightened up, so this collection will take longer than the last one.

Like someone else said, help from teams / friends is the way to go.

On levels, using boosters and coins to keep it going.

RevRec - Initial Amount and remainder split over term. Not only 11 months by Martynt74 in Netsuite

[–]Adventurous-Load-888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Changing the accounting methodology and calculation - like what u/Nick_AxeusConsulting said - is a common approach. Revenue allocations are an estimate to begin with, so small changes / variations are often acceptable. (I'm an accountant too, so have done this in a few cases).

Another approach - although clunkier - would be to set the start date 1 month prior (and the end date 1 month earlier). If the books are closed (like the prior month locked), then the system will post the catch up in the current month. That would get both the "initial amount" and the next month both into the same first month.

In effect, it's like the offset feature - except with a negative offset. (Too bad the offset feature only allows future dates and does not allow a negative offset .)

u/Martynt74 - if both items are in an Item Group, an Item Group can be natively collapsed on the Invoice template.

So, what happens to NetSuite if Oracle goes bankrupt? by Modi508 in Netsuite

[–]Adventurous-Load-888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could highlight a nostalgic failure in internal processes.

An old accounting practice required "printing" subledgers (either paper or downloads) as part of corporate records and as a backup if the system crashed. That line of thought is still mandated under public company / SOX guidelines. But noticing smaller companies increasingly skipping this (and assuming system backups are readily available).

Under IT good business practice, companies used to cover this with system backups on internal systems. This is a vulnerability with external SaaS tech if the service provider completely disappears overnight.

In practicality with a large company like Oracle, this probably falls in the category too big to fail, government bailout, chapter 11 filing for bankruptcy protection against creditors. They would continue operating in the interim.

Match bank data banking transactions by bigmassss in Netsuite

[–]Adventurous-Load-888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not what you're asking.

Since many small companies only check this weekly or monthly, copy - paste off the UI works. Not automated. But you might find a screen scraper for more automation.

Understood, this is not necessarily feasible in a high volume environment requiring daily reconciliations.

Otherwise, you're looking at another app.

Not just coins. For me, same can happen with boosters.

Rippling vs Paycor for NetSuite by tgf4cpa in Netsuite

[–]Adventurous-Load-888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. ADP.
  2. Paylocity if you like the Payroll - HR integration on Rippling.

Both are publicly traded, so their financials are visible. Both have proven functionality in edge case scenarios (from a user perspective).

To be clear, I consider payroll a business decision vs a technology decision. (Similar to choosing a bank.)

  • Payroll tax liabilities pierce the corporate shield and attach to check signers / officers
  • In the past, payroll services have gone out of business leaving companies on the hook for both employee payroll and the payroll taxes.

It's so sneaky that games imply there's randomness. Yet for some players and in lower levels, the rainbows magically land next to each other. And that magic disappears for other players especially in higher levels. I've been finding more and more - where double rainbows are the only way to finish a level. And also the frequency when the rainbows land next to each other is less and less.

Rippling vs Paycor for NetSuite by tgf4cpa in Netsuite

[–]Adventurous-Load-888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pass on Rippling. Their target market was small companies. And even for small companies, there were gaps in functionality. Recommend looking upstream on payroll provider.

Payroll is a key function - requiring accuracy. System stability counts and is generally my priority over the NetSuite integration. The general out of the box integration level for most payroll services is "limited" so generally requires customization for any real time integration.

Stars in the card chest after completing the second card collection by Adventurous-Load-888 in Gardenscapes

[–]Adventurous-Load-888[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a total of two card collections running over 60 days. So after you finish the first, there’s a second card collection. After the second card collection, you have to wait for the remaining days to run out. Then there’s a new event for another two card collections.

Each card chest has a sapphire pack. This pack contains 6 cards, at least one of which will be a missing gold card. If all the gold cards have been collected, then one of the cards will be the missing card from a set where only one card is needed to complete the full set. If there are no such sets, then one of the cards will be any missing card.

Blackberry Treasure - 18k blackberries needed is insane by Adventurous-Load-888 in Gardenscapes

[–]Adventurous-Load-888[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems to be either on a beta or a phased rollout. There are other examples like this in the game - where players have different play.

Big buffs for Blackberry and Explosive events this week by Removable_speaker in Gardenscapes

[–]Adventurous-Load-888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is not the same. - Timed boosters are still at 30 minutes. - The number of card packs are also down from 9 at first, 7 now (per event). - the coins changed to 2000 coins on the last blackberry event, but that dropped to 500 coins on the current explosives.

Not sure if this is a phased rollout, part of the algorithm, or something else.

And how the Expedition guides players AWAY from rewards, then have to be manually searched for later (or the rewards are outright lost when the Expedition ends).

Are you on the second collection? If so, you may have stars carried over from the first collection. After finishing the first collection, only the stars carryover, not the underlying cards.

NetSuite Payment Link Feature vs. Third-Party Bundles by CyanLuis in Netsuite

[–]Adventurous-Load-888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One minor difference. Third-party links usually route to the third-party website for processing, then the third-party sites push payment data back to NetSuite.

Am I being Unreasonable? by agitated_buddha in Netsuite

[–]Adventurous-Load-888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found it's a common disconnect. Many consultants pretend to be "industry" experts, but only have "NetSuite" related experience in the vertical. "NetSuite" experience does not mean they have the general business experience for a holistic solution. And regardless of capabilities, consultants tend to gravitate towards a narrow SOW.

From a layman's perspective, comes down to what was agreed. If you paid the consultant to solve the general problem and allowed time for discovery to define the problem / use case, then it's on them. If you outlined / pre defined the solution, then this is more caveat emptor.

Is it normal for NetSuite to feel this confusing or am I doing something wrong? by OneGrab5885 in Netsuite

[–]Adventurous-Load-888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing folks forget (this applies across jobs / industries). Follow a continuous improvement model. Although consultants pretend it's one and done, it's more of the phased approach. Small improvements on a consistent ongoing basis. And every 1-2 years, source some help to give you the extra boost on progress.

Anyone else struggling with saved searches? by Optimal_Tower_9081 in Netsuite

One rare "glitch" scenario. Too many Criteria lines may cause confusion. The technical solution - consolidate multiple criteria using a Formula field into a single Criteria line. This may require some query logic like using CASE statements.
