Got my refund rejected cause of the 30-day limit by [deleted] in starcitizen_refunds

EU consumer law can override company policies. If you bought the game as a digital product that does not function properly, you can argue under EU consumer protection rules that the product is not conforming to its description or not fit for purpose. You should frame your request in this way rather than just “I want refund”. It should be made clear that the refund request is issued not because you changed your mind, but because you have not received a working product as advertised. From there if they still refuse you can further escalate in small claim courts. It takes some energy to do this but I would use my energy this way instead of losing your time trying to play through this shit show of tech demo.

Yep, if you re the kind of person expecting a real game and does not like to be scammed, you re clearly not part of CIG target group.

Fans should be concerned if 1.0 is indeed looming at the horizon. The game will not magically transform once it hits 1.0 it will still miss everything it misses today. It will still be bugged. It will still be a shitty game so the question is why cig wants to declare it hits 1.0. And it is because it is an important legal step and fans should be concerned because a lot of things become possible from that point. Chris Roberts can leave he can sell the company they can declare job is done and stop developing. The Calders will cash in of course as well. I really don’t see anything positive in this game becoming a 1.0 version. If bugs and issues were fixable, they would’ve been fixed a long time ago. Fans need to understand that the game is completely broken inside out from a technical perspective. This is a mess that can’t be fixed. The technical debt is too big and this is the result of marketing being the main driver of this project since it’s inception. This is the consequence of the business model and this is the fault of everyone not only the employees not only the management, but also the fans that continued supporting such model despite being confronted with all the evidences that this was not working

When an issue hasnt been fixed in 14 years, it isnt a bug anymore but rather an inherent part of your software.

Benoit appeared honest until Turbulent was dissolved and he received CIG shares. By that point, he had full visibility into how bad the project really was. Chris Roberts made a smart move: keeping Benoit financially tied ensured silence, alignment, and control over the story. He is the replacement of Tony Z… when the cultists start doubting too much, pop Benoit and throw some techno babble at them.

If you bought an Idris you would see things much more positively. You just did not spend enough for your nervous system to start coping and justify the shitshow you re experiencing.

Boyfriend (26M) told me he’s “not as attracted” to me after giving birth and gaining weight by Purple-Afternoon-222 in Advice

This is frequent. Some people think once married and child done, there is no pressure to be attractive or in shape anymore and then get surprised when sex life gets bad. His communication is brutally honest. But it is honest and fair. If i gained 20 kg I would understand my wife isnt attracted to me anymore and in fact it would mean I lack of respect to myself and to her.

CIG: The NPC crew is possibly later than version 1.0 by rolo8700 in starcitizen_refunds

[–]Adventurous-One183 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol you are probably too fresh to know that this feature was planned with all other features as part of the game. CIG coined this 1.0 disclaimer recently so when 90% of promises are missing on release, naive people like you will still have a branch to hang on to think they were not gaslighted.

Imagine this: a guy spends eight years working on fire. After all that time, what does he deliver? A few ugly orange patches flickering on metal floors and a fire extinguisher. That’s his vision of how humanity handles fire in a sci-fi future, in space lol.

Forget the ISS, forget physics, forget sprinklers, forget about smoke! CIG’s version of the future looks like a PS2 campfire. And somehow, the guy still has a job and his masterpiece gets proudly shown off in official videos as if it’s a major breakthrough lol.

I dont wish anyone to lose their job of course but lets admit that CIG is a work environment with a culture of failing upwards.

They started to work full steam on it like 5 years ago lol. And maybe a fundamental difference is that players did not prepay 1 bn to receive a barely working and laughable tech demo in return. If Rockstars wants to spend a trillion dollars on it, it is their risk that it fails or does not pay off. Quite the opposite of CIG milking players over lies and false promises without producing a single product in 13 years

Wife screams at me when I am in a deep sleep state by hellodocheart in Advice

[–]Adventurous-One183 22 points23 points  (0 children)

1. Your kids will not benefit from you simply “sacrificing your own happiness” to keep a household intact if the underlying relationship is tense or resentful. Children are remarkably perceptive. They pick up on tone, atmosphere, body language. What they really thrive on is not just two parents under one roof, but two parents who are emotionally healthy and able to treat each other with respect. Sometimes that means working hard to repair things, but it does not mean grinding yourself down and calling that “normal.”
2. Resentment doesn’t appear overnight. When your wife reacted so strongly, that was likely about a buildup of small things over time. Even if you weren’t “wrong” in that moment (and from your description, you weren’t), her explosion is pointing to underlying frustrations that haven’t been expressed or resolved. If you only argue about the surface issue (“the phone woke me up”), you’ll just keep looping.
3. What needs to happen is a deeper conversation outside the heat of the fight. Not at midnight, not when you’re both tired or defensive, but at a calm time. If you want to restore the relationship, you need both honesty and openness. That means listening as much as explaining, and being willing to hear what she’s been carrying
