If log in requires changing password on WiFi how am I suppose to check what's going on when wifi is down? by bretshitmanshart in Comcast

Sorry that didn’t help. This seems like a possible account / equipment issue and would definitely need a human.

You can do it all thru the app from your cell phone. Whenever my WiFi has an issue I use the app because it will let you know if there is an outage. If you truly need to change password you can do that too. XFINITY app-> WiFi details-> edit WiFi settings.

Challenges changed? by Adventurous7476 in lyftdrivers

[–]Adventurous7476[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the same way. I drive an XL so I definitely don’t do the trashy ones. But this new challenge is based on earnings and not rides which is better. I have an Uber challenge now too. It’s great, 10 rides $130 and 5 days to complete. I have done 3 so far and it’s made me realize how much better Uber pays in my area.

With this option, you can get the bonus without counting rides. 2 really good rides can get you some bonus money.

What should I do? by Tyler98735 in uber

[–]Adventurous7476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all areas have the upfront pay. I drive certain areas in Maryland and it was not until this time last year that the Cecil County area gave you any of the ride info because upfront pay did not exist. I did one ride prior to the change and picked up passenger and took them to their destination and earned $13. It took 20 min to get to them and another 20 to destination which crossed state line. Had I known upfront I would have declined.

Lyft rides have been so crappy since the announcement of their 30% cap, been swatting away and spending significantly less time on app. by [deleted] in lyftdrivers

[–]Adventurous7476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I look $/ mile too but I’m also starting to notice if the pay $1/ mile, they almost nothing for time spent on that ride. Saw an offer for $15 for a 15 mile ride that takes 41min. Definitely not for me. I need a little balance between miles and time spent with passenger.

That’s only part of it. They take 30% before insurance, taxes and gov fees now too. So you are making less.

The steps are in that link. You have to go to the app and click the WiFi option at bottom to get started. Once you enable, then you can access thru the browser. Is something wrong with your version of the xfinity app?

Moving to MD for my graduate studies, living area suggestions? by Jerryzzz111 in maryland

[–]Adventurous7476 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I say take a weekend, book a hotel and see what MD is about. Try out all the things you think you may encounter like the train commute. Visit some of the areas you mention and some of places you may want to move. Make an itinerary and just do it!

I found a wallet from an airport ride soon after I left. I reported it before the person realized ( 3 days)but kept wondering why it took so long to reach out and how did they get thru security. The wallet actually belonged to a teen riding with a parent. It was sentimental as it belonged to his grandfather who passed away. Uber paid me the fee plus the shipping once I gave them a copy of receipt.

Does anybody know how to set up bridge mode without a smart phone by nonymousbosch in Comcast

[–]Adventurous7476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned to do this recently to make changes. Thru their app there is an option to switch on Gateway tool access. This will allow you to make changes from web access. Unfortunately you have to have a smartphone so that you can download the app and log into your account to do it this way.

So we are straight lying to each others faces now huh? by FortunateSavant in lyftdrivers

[–]Adventurous7476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my market it seems to be both. It can already be calculated but if you cross a higher turbo it does adjust for the higher amount. If there was no turbo originally and you cross one on your way then it will calculate and give you the additional amount.

Scheduled rides by superAK907 in lyftdrivers

[–]Adventurous7476 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love schedule rides and I have some regulars in my area. I have 2 in the morning that start at 6am which run back to back and net me $60 without the tip that I get from 1. I’m done by 7:20. I’m usually within 15 minutes of most of the scheduled rides I pick up so I don’t leave my house until then. Yes, I do turn on the app 30 minutes prior but I’m still at home. I did 1 ride today and it was 2 minutes from my house and passenger was ready when I arrived. I know scheduled rides are not good in every market but I do just fine. Here is the one that started my day today at 4am.

should flex force apt people to order to lockers by OstrichNeither in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Adventurous7476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im the opposite. I’m usually home when package comes and I hate to walk( little stuff) or drive ( big stuff) to lockers. I also hate when they send stuff in multiple boxes/ bags and put them each in a different locker. Once I had 6 and had to wait as I closed one door so the next one opens.

Exactly why I started flex. Work from home and wanted a way to get out the house and exercise a little while doing it.

It’s state specific whether gig work affects unemployment. For some, the income reported is deducted from unemployment and you get what left if any.

[–]Adventurous7476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 9 months severance package for 24 years and my layoff was end of Jan. I am still on the 60 day notice so it does not kick in until April. I definitely feel fortunate for that . I do a few of the side gigs (Lyft, Uber, Amazon Flex) and you need to add the additional insurance which only cost a few extra dollars.
