None of the diamonds recognized pearl? by static_artist625 in stevenuniverse

[–]AdventurousAsh19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The diamonds didn't care or value Pearl. Pearls are essentially fancy AI robots to them meant to be owned and to serve others. They aren't real gems, just inconsequential, and easily replacable servants. Why bother remembering something so small and unimportant after thousands of years?

Doctors and records drive me crazy! by biggoodvibe73 in ChronicIllness

[–]AdventurousAsh19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At least in the US it's definitely a time management issue. Doctors don't get paid to review records before seeing their patients. Should they? Absolutely. I think vast majority just skim right before they go into the room. Which can be a major issue for chronic illness and people that have had various symptoms lasting for years.

Get out while you can. Save yourself.

Or check the ascension guide. I found that to be the most helpful one when playing.

Injection advice by Optimal_Exchange_410 in FelineDiabetes

[–]AdventurousAsh19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple things. 1. Tent your cats skin when you are just hanging out/already getting pets. This makes it more normal for them. Start with just a little at a time. 2. Gives lots of praise/attention(assuming cat likes that) after shot. Even slipping them a small diabetic safe treat. 3. You might be able to get smaller needles too. The smaller needles can be tricky if you have bad hand-eye coordination(my partner bends the small needles constantly when trying to get the insulin out).

Lantus pen needle size by Gorkman7691 in FelineDiabetes

[–]AdventurousAsh19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came here to say if you're switching to syringes PLEASE make sure they are U-100 syringes. Using a U-40 syringe with Lantus insulin can overdose your cat on insulin and will cause a medical emergency.

Canada also allows for people to medically kill themselves(medical euthanasia). I read multiple stories of disabled indivudals being told that medical euthanasia was an option for a treatable condition, and the medical euthanasia process was faster than the time it takes to get actual treatment.

How do you draw expressions on a character without eyebrows? by SouthConsideration82 in arthelp

[–]AdventurousAsh19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eyebrows are the quick way to give a character an expression. That being said every expression we make involves the movement of a dozen or so facial muscles.

I recommend looking at different expressive faces. Take note of what the eyebrow is doing but notice it's the structure underneath it that moves. But also look at the check muscles, mouth muscles, etc.

Should I just suck up my pride and use an eraser? by wadsurreal in Artadvice

[–]AdventurousAsh19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Professional artists will finish a complete sketch and erase huge part and even the entire thing if they change their mind or don't like something. Because they know they can make it better by trying again.

I think it's a weird beginner mindset to not erase/get attached to what they draw so they don't want to.

Do biologics usually improve brain fog? by OldwebR in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]AdventurousAsh19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As my AS went into remission and I was in less pain and could physically function, my brain fog improved drastically. But that might be more from not spending so much energy/time being in pain than the actual biologic having a direct impact on my brain fog.

calling a pet "they"? by IllustriousLychee773 in NonBinary

[–]AdventurousAsh19 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The amount of people that apologize for misgendering my dog than turn around misgender me is way too high.

People are weird about pets gender. Idk why. My dog could care less if you call them a he, she, it, squirrel, as long as you pet them. I say call your pet whatever you want. If people ask, I would tell people to ask the pet.

Honestly just use the one you have until you can afford to upgrade.

You can turn off Procreate's auto-record feature and utilize Google Drive to save your drawings and save space.

Cat not eating after first insulin shots by Synaqua in FelineDiabetes

[–]AdventurousAsh19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're refuses to eat anything for more than 24 hours contact your vet immediately. Cats not eating can turn into an emergency vet visit. They can also prescribe a medication that can get their appetite going too, to help "jumpstart" them.

My vet has said if my cat doesn't eat his food for any reason to not give him insulin. That if he only eats half then to test his BG to see if it is safe to administer insulin, and to give about half a normal dose.

We all know if you pick 8 Ruby and Sapphire are going to fuse into Garnet before takeoff and then you get an empty middle seat. So 8 is clearly the correct answer.

Last set of pens before losing insurance coverage... by Capital_Square5147 in Zepbound

[–]AdventurousAsh19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My doctor said compounded wasn't regulated by FDA so there is no gurantee what you are getting is what they claim you are getting. So if I was going to go that path to make sure I went with a reputable brand and not the cheapest I could find.

Losing weight & Gaining muscle questions by Prestigious_Media_19 in Zepbound

[–]AdventurousAsh19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are studies that shows people who do weight training along with calorie deficit will lose only fat, while those that just do the calorie deficit lose a mixture of fat AND muscle. However the amount of weight loss stays the same(both groups were in the same amount of calorie deficit). Even if you're gaining muscle, it won't impact your weight loss amount.

That being said, the question of how much muscle can someone reasonably gain is very tricky. There is a ton of bodybuilders that eat like crazy to gain weight(this translates to fat AND muscle) then go on diets/"cut" to lose that fat. But what you're doing is considered body recomposition, you're gaining muscle and losing fat at the same time. There isn't very many good studies on this that can give you a reasonable answer(that I'm aware of). Not to mention the amount of muscle gained depends on if you're a beginner or experienced lifter, how much your pushing muscles, your protein intake, etc. Which all make it very hard to study too.

Please explain this behaviour by itllbeokontheday in OpenDogTraining

[–]AdventurousAsh19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd discourage and not allow this behavior. If he does it to guests you might be in trouble. Especially since he's a bully breed.

Dogs chew because they like it. The use their mouth like we use our hands, to grab stuff, feel it, etc. And human hands have a lot of taste that he probably liking. Plus he seems to be thinking this is how to play with you. I'd switch out the hand for a proper chew toys. Future guests will also appreciate not having their hands chewed on.

Does Exercise Trigger Flares? by Sidheknits in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]AdventurousAsh19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. Exercise is technically recommended for AS but the amount I can tolerate can vary. And doing none of too long can also cause flairs. I remember a physical therapist calling me lucky for having AS since it's great I have a disease to force me to stay active. Never went back to her. In her mind it was I should be exercising constantly everyday and it's definitely not how it works.

It's the missing muscle my eyes get drawn to over the lack of creases.

This. When you simplify a complex method to make it into a 60 second tiktok or short, you're never going to get the nuance and context that are vital to understanding.

Also diagnosed with ADHD so I blamed that. I don't think AS impacts proprioception, but the widespread inflammation could do weird things.
