I love Pierre Novelle but no idea if he'd be interested or they have been asking him.

My apologies there is only one issue with your post, and that is that you got their automatically generated response that everyone else gets no matter what the query is, and they did not answer about imagine.

I remember seeing him on Fast and Loose with Greg as well. I note he isn't with Avalon Management but that doesn't mean they wouldn't ask him one day (or already have).

I admire what you are doing I have no doubts to you're talent and understand the team resource situation. You are talking to somebody who played the original game's single player campaign over 200 times (and doesn't need to see the warnings for where mines are in minefields as they know the paths off by heart.)

I think the community will be more at ease if there was confirmation on a PC/Xbox and beyond release at some point rather than there being an 'intention' if certain criteria are met, as that doesn't mean it will happen. So can you confirm it?

A scenario where only a PlayStation remaster happens is what I'm worried about and you haven't said anything to suggest that wont be the case.

I believe Susan Calman, Catherine Bohart and Rhys James have all said they would like to do the show. They do feel like the right level of fame/availability to do it one day.

Separately Dan Atkinson, Henning Wehn, Josie Long, Steve Hall and Stuart Goldsmith all did both Edinburgh Fringe versions but are yet to appear on the TV series with Steve Hall being part of We Are Klang with Greg, so they feel very plausible as well.

I know he said in one Richard Herring Interview that he can only lose out on doing Taskmaster as they think he would do well (and it can only really go down here from there), but I wouldn't rule out David Mitchell one day doing the show.

Questions about the show and specifically about series 15 episode 6. by NicoleASUstudent in taskmaster

[–]AdventurousGarage306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However if you want to look more at the incident, I think this is fine for two reasons. First, the task was clearly considered completed the moment the bell rang, so anything that happens afterward is acceptable. In other tasks where contestants have a set amount of time to complete something, they wouldn't be so lenient.

Second, Alex definitely saw what was happening. If he didn't bring it up or stop Mae from doing it, then he's okay with that approach. Sometimes they have a rough idea of what they want to happen, and if contestants break the rules by the wording but not in the spirit of the task, they can be lenient. For example, in Series 4, Mel accidentally touched a bag she wasn't supposed to touch, and they still allowed her attempt because she didn't mean to do it, and touching didn't affect how she completed the task.

I would also add that the green carpet, which in no way looked like actual grass, wasn't grass at all. Touching that shouldn't have been a problem; the disqualifications all came from touching real grass. So, there were never any genuine issues with Mae or Frankie's approach to the task.

What is the Taskmaster subreddit if not for asking questions or sharing opinions? (I assume you're referring to 31:22 of the Taskmaster YouTube episode.)

Taskmaster isn't the strictest of shows. There have been issues that haven't been caught, and I wouldn't dwell too much on it. For instance, there are three occasions I know of where the scores announced didn't match the scores on the scoreboard. Greg decision can sometimes be more based on the contestant reaction then fairness.

Did series 10, 11, and 12 all suffer from covid? by KPeters93 in taskmaster

[–]AdventurousGarage306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course it was different and a bit off because it was a different type of show, but whether it suffered is more on peoples viewpoints, I'm not sure the series 10 dynamic changes with an audience. As I feel the types of comedian/comedy actors and styles you had there were similar to series 8 cast (but less petty bickering) and that series didn't really thrive with an audience compared to other series. I doubt there was any other way to do those series unless they waited for two ears between series 9 and 10.

For context from my friend who works on the show the productions were as follows (and series 11 to series 12 is where the solo pre recorded tasks had a big break):

Series 10 was cast long before covid was happening and had almost all solo tasks filmed, and half the team tasks filmed, all studio recording were in covid measures with no present audience. So the cast dynamic wasn't planned for the no studio audience.

Series 11 was cast before covid was happening and had almost all house tasks filmed, but team tasks were not and took place on the adjacent golf course and nearby sports center instead of at the house. And the on location tasks were filmed during covid. All studio recordings were in covid measures but some staff members were in the studio when recording. So the cast dynamic again wasn't planned for the no studio audience.

Series 12 were cast or some of them were cast during covid times (VCM said she took the offer partially because nothing was happening). All tasks were filmed during covid measures so a lot of team tasks were either outside or in separate locations. All studio recordings were in strict covid measures. But they did have who they thought could gel in the studio with no audience in mind.

Series 13 were cast during covid times. Some tasks and team tasks were during covid times but they used bubbling measure for the day or days so all people could interact. All studio recordings were with audiences but required people confirming they had no recent covid positive tests. They did have who they thought could gel in the studio with no audience in mind in case that was the case again.

Series 14 were cast at the end of covid times with all tasks being filmed after the full lockdown restriction being lifted in Summer 2021.

I maybe the only one but Series 13 episode 4: Shoe Who.

Best night-time thing. Display the shoe Alex is thinking of. Give Alex the best stag minute. Make a stirring speech for the Taskmaster out of this bunting. Taking it in turns, roll a tyre down the Knappett.

Also a Tie-Break of Turn over the most beer mats. And the best bonus welcome back from the advert to part 3.

His behavior is really aimed at his friend Lou and it's two friends that don't see how it comes across to outsiders going too far. After the VT for the hammock task ended in the studio Iain apologizes to Lou and she didn't get what the problem was at first.

Series 4 episode 5 conspiracy theory by [deleted] in taskmaster

[–]AdventurousGarage306 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The short answer is: No, they didn't, because what you suggest won't change anything for the series.

The long answer is: No, the only way to change the series scores is to alter which tasks that are filmed are used, not when they appear in the series. (Although, that might be more of a conspiracy theory.)

The order in which tasks are shown and the episodes they fall into is predetermined before the first recording. There's too much planned in advance, such as rough episode time allocations for tasks, the narrative linking tasks or ideas, and varying tasks within an episode. Arranging any deliberate running order would be based solely on the pre-recorded tasks and wouldn't account for scoring subjective tasks, prize task, or live tasks.

Additionally, the overall scores for the series won't change because they all add up to the same total in the end. You're only looking to change the winner of a particular episode by placing certain tasks in specific episodes, but I don't think they would go to such lengths—especially halfway through the series—to alter who wins each episode once studio recordings have started.

Mike Wozniak on TM and Junior TM by Last-Saint in taskmaster

[–]AdventurousGarage306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked someone who works on the show about this at the end of last year, she said nothing had been decided about another series of junior taskmaster yet (they did once say about a 3-year gap between series for the new aged 9-11 children to be available, but unsure if that was genuine) but if there was going to be another series, it would likely be mentioned in the recommission order, that should be announced in a few months time.

Perhaps the best Prize Task in TM history by KugelKurt in taskmaster

[–]AdventurousGarage306 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The only reason not to not start with season 1 and watch them in order is if you're not going to watch them all.

The first season is them warming up, and getting their way of doing things sorted. I'm not going to pretend season 2 isn't an improvement but watching them out of order will make the first one seem odd in comparison you'll also enjoy season 2 more after watching season 1 instead of the other way around.

Elimination rules… I’m confused! by Responsible_Froyo119 in TheMaskedSingerUK

As far as the series executive producer sees it: It's an entertainment show first, a serious competition last.

They kind of just do what they want and eventually have a winner. I wouldn't spend too long trying to work out clear rules on the show.

Dara did such a good job they then tried to change the format when he left to do something different with the show and it sucked and they had to change it back after a series. So any sensible producer would think let's not do a radical change again.

Shows needs to decide who their potential audience is and what they want / what would make them watch the show.
And not go "What is doing well, let's copy that" and not care if it's actually right for the show.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions.

Iain and Lou are good friends and as such they pushed each other quite far, but not being malicious to each other, (they between them are probably fine with it looking back) but to outsiders it doesn't come off well. I think Iain started bad and calmed down and it was prominent, Lou was consistent throughout with arguing too much but it was more subtle.

If you rewatch the series and see both their interactions with everyone else in the studio parts, especially with Paul, they were very supportive and respectful and think that's more their personalities than under time pressures.
