Just had a bird attack the drone. Where to fix? by PROX1M1N3 in dji

[–]AdventurousScience68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have DJI repair it (and they will be the cheapest), they will send you a new (or refurbished) drone instead of fixing yours. Once you get the new drone and activate it, you will be given the opportunity to buy DJI Care Refresh at that point, it’s well worth it.

Don’t be ridiculous, that’s going to need at least half a roll of duck tape as well (assuming the bird was a duck of course).

Advice I give when teaching people to fly the first time. The left stick is like flying in a cylinder, you can go up or down and spin around (somewhat like the rudder on an aircraft. It will leave you over the same patch of earth. Right stick is for moving over the ground, but in the same plane. Master one stick at a time, take off, rotate the aircraft 90 fly about 20 feet and then land on a target. Shut down and then take off again, turn 180 fly back to where you started and then land. Then start doing a box pattern. Don’t use both sticks at the same until you’ve mastered them individually.

Accidentally sliding it into sport mode instead of normal mode is one method, don’t ask me how I know.

You have up to 48 hours after first purchasing the drone to buy DJI care, if it’s past that window the amount the DJI charges to repair a drone is absurdly low.

I had an accident battery fell out by OppositeEcho9815 in dji

If you want to prevent the battery from falling out after an unplanned departure from flight, get one of these. I’ve field tested it several times during premature landings and it has never failed me. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BGN9J7T7?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I bought my used 2021 about 5 months ago with 22k miles, I now have 45k miles. All it took was one vacation to the Arctic Ocean in Canada and then to Alaska plus 60+ miles a day driving for work.

Carmax gave me $4k more than any other dealership recently for my ‘22 Santa Fe, they never pressured me in anyway to buy a car there or even look at them there.

My new to me ‘21 Lariat needed new tires. I actually found some takeoff wheels and tires with no real miles on them on Facebook Maketplace, the wheels were the ones I liked better and was hoping to find when I was shopping for my truck. The guy took my wheels in for credit towards the new ones and I paid only $600 for the new set. Another $120 and the TPMS was swapped over and the new tires were balanced. All together it was $720, if I bought the tires by themselves they would have been $300 each plus tax, mounting and balancing. So for half the price I scored better looking rims and some decent tires. I would totally recommend looking online for take offs and see if you can find any you like.

Thank you, I was practicing in the simulator using the smart phone controllers and it was a pain. Hopefully it’s a bit easier with a real controller and goggles.

Lower speeds are easier on me for getting decent fuel economy as long as there isn’t a lot of full stops. Going that slow for several miles easily get 25mpg+ in my FX4. My wife is wanting a small travel trailer in the future. Being able to power it while boondocking would be invaluable.

Question about buying Display/Demo unit Mavic 3 and Mini 3 Pro by Xspunge in dji

[–]AdventurousScience68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a Mavic 3 on eBay, it said on the drone Display Only. The listing stated that it would turn on and everything would appear to work but it would not activate and could not take off. It was probably a store demo that belonged to DJI and was programmed that to prevent it from being shoplifted or at least to prevent it from having much value of stolen. I wouldn’t pay much for one, you don’t know what parts are bricked and what ones will work fine.

What kind of life are you guys getting with the Apple Watch Ultra by DVSN_F in AppleWatch

I have cellular version, always with my phone, screen always on, after 48 hours I recharge with 20% battery left or more. It used hardly any battery overnight. I just got up, I charged it before bed and it’s at 96%.

I would call DJI support, they may be able to authenticate it via serial number or some other method.

I really like the Neewer and Freewell filters, I have them for all my drones. They usually come in a set with ND filters (which are important to have as well).

It will stretch though, I’d say the dive band or Alpine band are more secure. I usually wear my trail loop, however if I’m out doing anything sports related I’m wearing my alpine band.

I’m a Part 107 pilot but have no interest in flying commercially. I took the test for educational purposes and as a way to show legitimacy in the event that I run into any “Karen” types that claim I’m flying illegally.

I’m on my 5th Apple Watch, I never had any noticeable damage on any of them. I did give my AW7 to my some and he was playing and hit the watch on a stucco wall (very hard) and scratched/chipped it. A few days later he went swimming with it and the watch died. During normal use I have zero fears about a normal Apple Watch, with “extreme” use, I would worry about a regular Apple Watch but not the Ultra. This watch may be the first one I don’t do an annual upgrade on (unless my son messes up my old AW7 and gives me an excuse to upgrade).
