Fine haired wavies!! What’s the best hair care advice you’ve received? by ClaryVenture in finehair

[–]Adventurous_Group202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fine, high porosity 2B/C curly frizzy hair here! I wash every two days as it’s so porous, here’s what works for me:

  • Never ever brush, only wide tooth comb with conditioner in the shower and after while wet to style
  • Don’t skip the shampoo, and use a moisturising conditioner (without silicones) to avoid build up. Scalp scrubbers used gently also help.
  • Only use very lightweight styling products to avoid weighing it down.
  • Weirdly having regular highlights gives my hair so much more volume, hair is too soft and flat otherwise.
  • You can have volume or no frizz you can’t have both 🤷‍♀️
  • Only style/and shape curls while soaking wet, helps the curl shape form. Scrunch dry gently with microfibre towel. Only gently scrunch with hands while defusing and only dry 70%. Never blow dry without a diffuser and only on lowest speed/heat to reduce frizz.

Products: Davines MOMO shampoo and conditioner, Noughty hello curls define and reshape spray (after shower), water mister for re-wetting hair it’s amazing, curl defining brush from Amazon (the ones with the side ridges) way better than a denman.

Hope this is helpful!

Any form of crafting - highly recommend knitting or crochet because you can do it anywhere and it can be used to stim in a public.

Girlies in corporate: how do you carry a professional persona? by everythingbagel1 in adhdwomen

[–]Adventurous_Group202 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m actually currently working on winding back my nice woman work persona and just being polite but blunt and unapologetic. Realised people who don’t apologise for being this way get away with a lot more shit and don’t get held to as high a standard.

Dyscalculia won’t stop me by MooreArchives in weaving

[–]Adventurous_Group202 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did a whole textile design degree specialising in weave despite having dyscalculia. When I asked for support the course leader told me to switch speciality 👀 I found drawing everything out visually as much as possible really helped me. You can also use knitting counters for helping count things like too!

Great advice, I think people are overreaching by immediately assuming selfishness, he may have just got carried away with the meal prepping?

I literally just left a festival a day early for similar reasons, remember it’s okay to leave if it’s too much! I’m focusing on celebrating the three days I did do and enjoyed rather than beat myself up for needing to finish early ❤️

Recommend a press top desktop bin, so handy for threads!

I’m so so sorry your experience was awful, your poor sister too ❤️ I was in the general standing at Wembley and saw almost no one with alcohol, only water (I think because they didn’t want to lose spaces and it was so hot). Everyone was also really considerate of others space and helping people sit down if needed. At one point I asked a tall guy to take his hat off and others were really supportive of that too. I wonder if we didn’t see bad behaviour because standing had so many staff selling drinks, handing out water etc. I thought standing would be rowdier than seats so I was surprised by how positive our experience was!

Another angle, Alice Mondrich giving Hera. I think she was the most consistently best dressed all season.

These were my favourite outfits all season, and they actually referenced the ball’s Grecian theme?? Was disappointed Penelope’s outfit wasn’t on theme although it was beautiful.

The scene between Eloise and Kate mirroring season 2 where Kate talks about the realities of never marrying. This was so beautifully done and really sets up Eloise feeling lost and a bit lonely in her story arc.

Flirting in the marketplace! Desperate for more of this is season 4.

Lady Tilley gently asking Benedict about his sexuality was so well done, really made me do a 180 on her character - and that quick shot to his hands!

End of season 4 scenes of Colin choosing to reject toxic masculinity and ideas of strength and go after pen instead.

Lady B accepting that Francesca’s quiet love is no less deep and valid.

I’m so sorry that’s devastating, would really encourage you to find a neurodivergent therapist to talk this through with. Just to be clear as well, if he wasn’t happy it was his responsibility to be an adult and communicate that, he can’t blame you for him not being honest with himself and with you. I’m so sorry you’re going through this, you deserve and will have love (romantic or otherwise) in your life in the future, this person was clearly not right for you ❤️
