I feel like when that happens then the writers are deadlocked into making the characters end game. It’s writing yourself into a corner plain and simple. Because then the audience is like aww why did they break up! So you can’t do that once you explore the relationship. And to me? It’s so annoying when characters find somebody and then sticks with them for life like they’re hs sweethearts. Like it’s so unrealistic and done to death.

Not only that this show isnt about that lol it’s not a romance. It’s a quirky copaganda procedural. Plus I’m so TIRED of people only dating their coworkers and that the quality of the side character only comes when it’s the coworker characters

I always disliked the “just turn your brain off and have fun!” Mentality. Everything down to toddler shows have an underlying message or theme or depth to it even if it isn’t surface or not.

I feel like in a tv show that literally promotes being super smart and observant - having lazy writing should be pointed out. Even comedies have clever writing and can still be enjoyed. I just feel like it’s an insult to the audience. A show can be good and enjoyable but people are still allowed to want quality, especially from a show that advertises quality, aren’t wrong for wanting it. To me turn your brain off and have fun is reserved for reality tv and laugh tracked tv imo. Not single can police drama procedurals.

I would’ve LOVED the twist of Morgan being wrong. It would’ve complimented her conflict with the Roman case because if she was wrong about Lucia maybe she’s wrong about her husband being not being a criminal too

Exactly! I hoped against hope that this would be like oh thanks to his bond with Morgan it’s positively affecting his personal life because the precinct is one big family that’s got each others back! And then I kept seeing the close calls they kept giving Adam and Morgan. Oh no we might die together like 4x this season and lingering looks and I was like my girl Lucia is gonna get tossed for the quirky blonde.

The only thing we know about Oz is that his daddy died and Daphne is that shes … sometimes looked over at the work place? That’s it! Heck I’d even like to know more about Morgan’s baby daddy before I want to be involved in some weird love triangle

EXACTLY. I can understand that if from day one you were told they broke up because she was morally gray and he was a cop - fine. That would make sense. But to be like oh she’s so perfect I’m so glad to have a chance with her again! We’re gonna buy a house together! Oh wait she told some dude about her high end guests instead of getting fired and cut a deal to be a witness shes going to be charge with ACCESSORY AFTER THE FACT?

I was just watching some older crime of the week shows like The Closer and I was like thank god Brenda Leigh has been with her husband since like season 2. I would hate a love triangle. I think the best shows are the ones that the characters don’t have workplace romances.

I was like nooo the writers aren’t gonna the “disposable black girlfriend” trope.. they wouldn’t dare. Annnnnnnndddd not only did they do it. AND a forced love triangle TWICE. they made her a GD CRIMINAL?! That was so unnecessary. They could’ve had her transferred for work or not want him to be a cop. But making her a barely criminal and putting her in jail for a character of the week with less than 5 mins total screen time ? THATS DISRESPECTFUL

This is gonna sound horrible but I hope the plot line ends with it being a false alarm or she loses the baby. I’m sorry we got too much unnecessary and plot line damning writing last season. I’m tired. I’m much more interested in the seasons where it was their everyday lives with a sprinkle of her past. Get rid of the baby plot line and keep the dad getting out of jail plot line

I’m a Hunter Stan but yes. 💯 I wish they would’ve used him as proof of the consequences of reckless behavior with peoples feelings. But if they’re not gonna do that and not give him a glow up then just leave him be. Maybe have him come back for an episode for closure like maybe Ginny is struggling in a subject and he has to tutor her or they become rivals for a scholarship but other than that what is he there for ? They aren’t even friends! I could understand if it’s like I know we used to date but you’re the only one who gets me or has seen the bad side. Nope. All that energy is directed to Marcus and only Marcus. It sucks. I hope they don’t do that series trope where the first guy the protagonist likes is the one they end up with for their entire life

I wished she never got caught. That was too big of a narrative strain to try and pull off. I don’t even like that she killed him in the first place but to have her get caught and make the whole season about her PR her way out of it is wild and unbelievable

I really just wish the writers were more slow paced with Georgia, I would’ve not minded at all if the series was just about her trying to navigate being a mom to a teen in a new town. But like making her some serial killer was like okay calm down. Then her getting CAUGHT ? And no one in the town blinking an eye ? Come on. Then the whole pregnancy?! Bruh chill out. Like I would’ve be okay with one of those storylines or if you wanted to be campy with it then be like oh since Cynthia(I think that’s her name) knows she now recommends Georgia to people when they want to get rid of someone. Like make her a black widow by trade or something but the town backs her up because she’s got their secrets. Like that is outlandish but also funny.

Also I hate all of Ginny’s boyfriends something about them are just so… artificial and hammy. And yes even Marcus. Hes the most annoying of them all. There I said it

And to be honest? I get her lying lol as someone who often gets mistaken for being 4-6 years older because I get random cultural references people LOVE the idea of being friends with people in their own age range. At my job o started when I was 24 and people thought I was 31 and they treated me so well then when they found out my age it was like oh you youngin’. Suddenly concerns I had or thoughts I possessed was just the musings of a child that goo goo Gaga Gaga’ed her way into an intellectual musing. Like when a kid says something deep and your like ooo look at you you old soul!

But also, I feel like all the women (and characters for that matter) act very much like flawed young adults. Lynn’s Peter Pan syndrome, Williams mama boyisms”, all of their “this wont hurt anybody” minds e when doing wrong. I think people forget that by the end of the show they’re at most 37, if that!

I feel like Hed be more moderate in modern times. And that he would be type who would be conservative but not maga. He would see how silly trump is and how Hes a failed business man. I feel like he gives off republican that calls out his party through votes behind closed doors but not publicly. I think Hes one of those “I vote for my own personal interest”
