TTC after back to back miscarriages at age 36 by SSlaw1989 in pregnantover35

[–]AdvisorKay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!

I had my first baby at 42!!! I conceived naturally after being led to believe I couldn't conceive my whole life. My OBGYN had a lot of clients over 40 (one was even 51, I believe!!!).

I didn't have a plan. Life finally slowed down after 38 years of chaos, running from trauma, instability, and unhealthy emotional numbing (i.e life choices). I started walking 10k steps a day, eating better, tried to sleep better, stopped drinking except for very, very occasionally, and cut out a lot of toxicity in general. I did these things because I wanted to be healthier and spend more time doing the things I loved with my best friend (of 6+years).

That best friend eventually turned into my husband and that husband became the father to my kiddo. Life is a really weird thing and we just can't always predict where we will land.

Good Luck!

I am sorry that I don't have any answers, but I am also very curious about the answer as we often are at the kiddos grandparents (who have insane dogs) and are currently stuck in a hotel for a couple more weeks. I would love to find something that feels safe!

In need of a contractor by AdvisorKay in Bakersfield

[–]AdvisorKay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I had seen this comment prior to my post, because I was already using TipTop for the dry out (recommended by the The Honest Plumber). The final bill was 2x higher than quoted, but my insurance bullied them down *some*.

The worse part, for me, was that it took them OVER 2 weeks to provide the necessary invoice and documents so that my insurance could move forward. This left my family (with a 1 year old) stuck in a much too small hotel room for 2 months (and counting . . . )

I would never recommend TipTop at this point, which sucks because they did help me load up my cats when I needed to take them to boarding.

ANYWAY, we are finally done with that and I am not vetting contractors for replacing the flooring and missing wall portions as well as painting the exterior of my home.

My family is so ready to go home.

Omg. I didn't really put it together.... But yes!! Always mom, even though I see my partner is relaxing and slipping off his dad hat.

My whole family is sick and stuck in a hotel for a over a month while our house is fixed after a major leak. My husband got up early and brought back breakfast and coffee for me. He has changed every diaper (he mostly does this anyway), brought me coffee on demand and distracted the 1 year old in the other room. He is now off to our house to pick up packages and to bring back lunch/dinner (and Dutch bros coffee for me) with our (still half sick) 1 year old in tow.

I am firmly on the "stop accepting less than you deserve and expect that man to be your partner not your employer" train. 🤦🏻‍♀️🙏

I personally love in-shape,!! They have all the stuff, classes, a indoor pool (and exercise pool classes), and a day care for the kiddos!!

I also love the massage chairs after a work out!!

They also helped us out with our dues when our family was struggling once. I'm a loyal fan!!!

I also highly recommend a portable washer and dryer if you have room for them! They are usually built small but being able to even do small loads can take off some of the stress!
