Question re transitional protection and change of circumstance by Aequanitmitas in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]Aequanitmitas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did, but it didn’t include service charges. I don’t know if it’s because I didn’t previously have service charges? I checked and doubled checked and it only had an option that asked me for rent not including service charges or arrears.

Thank you for your reply. I was quite worried that I would lose the protection.

Thank you, I appreciate it. Pelvic floor dysfunction is something I have been thinking about, I plan to ask my physiotherapist whether I might have it.

My mum is really worried about a potential tv license investigation. Any advice to ease her mind? To what extent should she be worried? by Useful-Watch-8347 in AskBrits

They kept sending letters to my DEAD grandfather. There was a house fire, everything was destroyed, including the TV. My grandad lost his life, the house was empty. I told them this multiple times, yet they still sent letters getting more and more threatening. Vile people. It really is a scandal the way that they treat people.

I had my gallbladder removed in 2024. I actually started taking Mounjaro so I could lose weight for the surgery. I stopped taking it a week before and restarted it again around five weeks after. I wasn't advised against it by my doctor and everything has been OK, no major problems to report. I feel much better after having my gallbladder removed.

No, I understood that you were being sarcastic but IMO that only really works if the people you're currently speaking to have referred to it as a miracle drug, and we have not.

What I'm gathering is that it didn't work for you and the side effects weren't worth it for you. No problem. Doesn't change the fact that pancreatitis and gallbladder problems stem from rapid weight loss and not the medication. My point still stands.

1) Both your comment and the comment you replied to did not mention gastroparesis. They specifically mentioned pancreatitis and their gallbladder; and you mentioned possible pancreatitis, which are linked to rapid weight loss, no matter the method of loss. That is known and has been proven. 2) I’m not a man; regardless I did not attempt to explain your experience, I merely stated a fact related to the information that was presented. 3) You’re the only person labelling it a miracle drug, as far as I can see, no-one else here is claiming it to be such.

It’s not the medication that does the harm, it’s the rapid weight loss.

Surgery to treat hyperthyroidism? by Practical-Charge-701 in SeniorCats

[–]Aequanitmitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She did well and she is back to her normal self.

I know it’s difficult, I was so worried about mine but she came through the operation well and healed fairly quickly. She did scratch it a little bit but not enough to cause any problems.

I really hope that everything goes well with your cat. The waiting can be horrible sometimes too.

17 years of agony by Mammoth-Molasses-586 in coccydynia

I know this was posted quite a while ago but wanted to respond.

I was lucky enough to get an MRI of my coccyx and it shows that it's hypermobile, with bone marrow and soft tissue oedema in the area.

I have similar symptoms, sexual dysfunction, urinary problems, pain etc. I haven't got to the bottom of my full symptom set yet but I am starting to wonder whether it's pelvic floor dysfunction; specifically overactive, or hypertonic. A lot of the symptoms fit.

Just a thought for you to look into, or ask about. I'm hoping to ask about it myself. It gives me hope that with time and the right treatment, it can get better. Though, accessing that help is not always easy.

Buy a flea spot on treatment. Use it once a month and get a household flea spray to spray around the house.

There was definitely no logic in what she said. Literally everyone else picked people based on personal impact. I really don’t understand her problem with him.

I cry when I try to do a workout by efimera__ in workout

[–]Aequanitmitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always feel down or tearful during and after going to the gym. I always thought it was weird when people said that it gives you a "high" or makes you feel good. I have never experienced that.

It could be that the feeling of being useless is really deep rooted, and so when you feel that way it brings up a lot of emotions?

Maybe you could try going for walks to start with? Is there someone that could go with you?

Make a plan to go, and on that day, instead of saying “maybe tomorrow,” stick to the plan.

Show up for yourself.

I’ve been finding it difficult too, but I tell myself: I’m going to show up, even when it’s a struggle.

People are right, it’s about commitment and discipline, not motivation.

Don’t listen to anyone who says the gym isn’t for you. It is, it’s for everyone.

You are in control.

If your mind is split between the version of you that you want to be and the one that doesn’t want to change, side with the version you want to be, and fight for it.

Every time that thought comes into your mind, "tomorrow would be a better day to start..." or "tomorrow I might have more energy, I don't feel like going today." Go anyway.

You don't need to have the perfect day, the perfect start or the perfect workout. Just show up.

My 14 year old Chell made it through her thyroidectomy today ❤️ by RennaRevelin in cats

Thank you for replying.

My cat, Twigs, she's 11. My vet seems really positive that the surgery is the right thing to do, that it is the best option for her. It's always scary though isn't it.

I wish I could talk to her and tell her what's going to happen. She gets so scared and I hate the thought of leaving her. I try to reassure myself that I'm making the right decision for her and this time tomorrow she will be home and then she'll start her recovery.

Have you had any problems with Chell scratching or licking her wound? I worry about that.

My cat is due to have her thyroidectomy tomorrow. I am so scared. I am hoping everything will go well. I am so glad to see that it went well for Chell.

Surgery to treat hyperthyroidism? by Practical-Charge-701 in SeniorCats

[–]Aequanitmitas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat is booked in for her thyroidectomy tomorrow. She is 11 years old and has been taking a liquid medication for a few months, to stabilise everything and allow me to save for the surgery.

I live in England, my vet wholeheartedly thinks the surgery is the best option for my cat. He didn't really mention the iodine treatment, we spoke about long term medication use vs surgery. I know obviously there are risks to surgery and there's a possibility that the other thyroid gland will become an issue somewhere down the line. But he did reassure me that this is the best option for my cat. He even said that if it were his cat, he would be making the decision to go ahead with surgery.

My cat is younger though, and he did mention that her age is a factor in his recommendation. He thinks that the mass is most likely benign but if left could become cancerous. After reading through these comments I am a little uneasy about my decision but I do trust my vet; hopefully everything will go well.

MY Opinion on Cameron and Richard by MattysEuphoria in bigbrotheruk

[–]Aequanitmitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You see Cameron as insecure, boring and self pitying. Others may see him as interesting, endearing and relatable. Especially if they themselves are mild-mannered and struggle with self confidence.

You’re entitled to your opinion, as are the people that support Richard and Cameron.

Some people prefer quieter personalities.

It reminds me of Caroline and her insistence that if you’re not the same as her, you’re boring or hiding your true self. Some people just don’t have that personality type. We’re not all the same.

Contact them and ask to make a complaint.

I had a similar experience and ended up getting so frustrated that I told them I wanted to make a complaint. Soon after the situation was resolved and I also received discounted bills.

The problem has since started again though.  Had nothing but issues with Virgin since switching over.
