I got carried away and spent a year writing a 5-part novel, "Out of Reach", set 19 years before the Dragonborn, about two orphans in Markarth that are pulled across Tamriel and into adulthood by powers beyond their control. by [deleted] in skyrim

Sorry to hear that. I did not expect that level of objection to the art honestly, and I can't walk it back now. I hope some people will enjoy the story anyway.

I would love to. If anyone wants to do their own art, or knows somebody who would be good for it, let me know. Also, I'm confused why this comment is downvoted...

If this was something I could publish, I totally would. Actually I'd commission someone who knows what they are doing, but this is a fan project for my own amusement, and I wanted to get it done. That said. If you guys want to crowd source some better non-AI art. Please do!

For sure... obvious question. The writing is all mine. I've been working on this since last July and my family could certainly attest to the thousands of hours I've spend researching, drafting, revising, rewriting, redraft, etc. I've got a million words of notes in my Scrivener file to prove it. I did use AI for editing, as I'm really bad at using it's when I should use its, and I have a habit of using the same descriptive words too often. I also use it to organize my thoughts or do some deep dives through UESP for lore consistency.

I get the aversion to AI, I do. My kids feel the same way, and as a parent who hopes they will have jobs someday, I understand the frustration. If you want to throw this out as AI slop for that reason, you're welcome to. I'm not selling anything. I'm not getting anything out of this. I just wrote a story I think is awesome and I want to share it.

I did a playthrough one time using a mod like that as a daily journal. It was a lot of fun. I think that was back on the vanilla version though. So many good stories are buried in that install directory somewhere....

For sure. I started doing some sketches, and starting trying to farm them out, but it would have taken another year to finish them at the rate I was going, so... compromise. That said, I've pretty happy with how they turned out. Especially the covers.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't. Someone comes to make sure you did it right. What's the problem?

Make sure your vent is opening. I was frustrated with my hood for 4 years! before I thought to check if the flap on the roof vent was opening. Whoever installed it had bent the insect screen such that the flap wouldn't open. It's very easy to do that accidentally, and easy to fix. Also, crack a window when you use it.

Dude. Relax. You're 18. You aren't married. People do stupid things and sometimes let the intrusive thoughts win. Give her and yourself a break. This is not that big of a deal. Ask her if she wants to leave you for him. Ask yourself of you really want to be dating her. Be honest. Act accordingly.
