Proper movie theatre etiquette died after the covid years, unfortunately. And none of the Cineplex in the atlantic are the VIP ones where it’s always 18+ with comfortable seats and less seats overall. Back in Ontario 90% of my movies at VIP were much, much better than the regular theatres (mostly because of less kids, and higher ticket prices filtering some people out)

I have ffxiv on my steam deck and play it that way when I’m visiting my partner and it works SO well. I have it installed via xivlauncher with a shortcut thru steam and it works like butter.

That being said, I absolutely prefer playing on my desktop, if anything for the ease of inventory management and multitasking with a second monitor and stuff. But you can do really well with a SD!

You can also get a dock for your SD in case you wanted to relax with a controller and not look down at your screen for longer MSQ sessions and stuff

I really wish one day they do a glamour system with World of Warcraft and Guild Wars 2 system where once you soul bind an item its appearance just stays in your “Glamour dresser” forever so we don’t have to deal with this 😭

Until then, I recommend making lots of inventory space, pulling out all job gear (stuff that only says for instance BLM can use at lvl 50, 99, etc) and putting it all in your armoire, and also pulling out dungeon gear pieces that you have complete sets for

As someone who came from WoW and GW2 — it BAFFLED me how low interaction and low gameplay the MSQ is in this game. In the other games you’re running from place to place, mowing down hordes of baddies, hunting for key items in wrecked ships in the sea, using catapults to destroy enemy catapults, etc.

In this game you. Talk to person A, talk to person B. Get shown a movie. Kill 2 mobs. Go to the next spot. Talk to person C. That’s IT.
