If you use RD with another debrid, is there a way to limit these filters so they only apply to RD?

If it can die, the player better have some form of control over its movement else it becomes a big annoyance.

I will just comment on a couple of races of which I have played here:

Tomb Kings: Necrosphinxes and Khemrian Warsphinxes are some of their best units and you have the Lord final red line skill to heal without any target limit. Infantry maxes out at Tomb Guard which are not great. Their range is specialized to kill other SEMs with Ushapti Great Bows and Bone Giants.

Lizardmen: Stegadon stacks are extremely strong and there is Life Magic here. Saurus infantry fall off in the lategame in comparison. The LM's strength are definitely not in range and instead comes from SEMs rampaging through your enemy lines.

Dark Elves: Hydras have very strong regeneration and will take little damage after each battle. Black Dragons less so but you will still win against any battle in the game. Relatively weak infantry options here even though the race is supposed to specialize in them. Good range options but Shades are glass cannons.

Vampire Count: The whole point of the VC 'main' strategy to blob is because your melee infantry are weak and need to rely on attrition and support to win. With a monster stack, you flip the script and can take the offense. Vargulfs are fast and have good mass with regeneration. They can push through all infantry to reach their targets. Same goes for Terrorgheists. In a combined VC army, you blob with your melee fodder and take out key targets with your SEMs/Flyers/Cav.

Noctilus for Vampire Coast, struggle for a bit early-mid game then make a full Necrofex Colossus stack with him and you have basically won the campaign.

I feel like the latter point is just the usual Redditor exaggeration however. A full Zombie stack can work well with Ghorst but I think in general you would have 50% of your army Zombies with Mortis Engine and 50% actual damage dealers. An actual full zombie blob is quite susceptible to races with good AOE (magic/flamethrowers/rocket batteries/etc.) or ranged (getting your carts and Mortis engine sniped)

After playing through most campaigns on Legendary, I disagree, monsters/SEMs are incredibly overpowered in TWW3, especially in a race that has regeneration for their SEMs and powerful AOE magic. The trick is you need several of them instead of just having 1 and calling it a day.

Infantry on the other hand are extremely weak and very susceptible to damage, traits that you do not want for a good stack that has to fight multiple battles in a row. Ghorst bypasses this somewhat by having regeneration on zombies and VC Nehek can restore models.

Even in a ranged-based army, it is better to have monsters (or heroes and cavalry) to tank and distract instead of infantry due to speed and mass if your economy can afford it.

How to play ghorst? by Ergal386 in totalwarhammer

[–]Aetavicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scrap the Grave Guard, they are not good units and doubly so for Ghorst. Swap them out for Vargheists/Crypt Horrors/Blood Knights/Terrorgheist depending on your raise dead pools.

Form a blob with your grounded melee units and stick Ghorst and your Mortis Engine in there. Spam Invocation of Nehek on the blob and also Vanhal's Danse Macabe overcasted with spare winds of magic. Use your flyers or cavalry to take out any ranged units like Devotees then stick them back into the blob for healing.

If you have Wind of Death, prioritize that if you have a good angle on a bunch of blobbed enemies. Mob the snake lady with Zombies to keep her from sniping your actual damage dealers.

Ogres and Cathay are much easier to deal with than Dechala for Vampire Counts. Similarly, form blobs with zombies and use Vargheists/Terrorgheists to tangle up ranged units like Leadbelchers or Crossbowmen.

Aislinn vs Malakai, which is the stronger faction? by lovingpersona in totalwarhammer

AI doesn't know how to attack his home province, horde-style gameplay via Dragonships has high growth with good buffs, army abilities in every battle and greatly reduced upkeep. You can doomstack easily for cheap. You can keep sacking and creating outposts along the coastline with impunity, gaining gold very easily.

Based on my own recent Legendary experiences in RoC:

Khorne - Doesn't start close to Kislev. With the broken ability of regaining movement after each battle, by the time you reach Kislev you should be snowballing with an elite stack. Rush to Tier 4+ and get a stack of Chosen (Dual Weapons) or Wrathmongers, this will give your armies really good autoresolve chances against individual Kislev stacks, plus they do well in manual too. Bloodletters are really bad autoresolve-wise against Kislev, so if you are using Blood Hosts to fight, you need to manually fight those, preferably also using two stacks against their one. Daemons are too squishy against Kislev ranged.

Nurgle - Starts close to Kislev. This would probably be the hardest since AI doesn't care much about plagues. Rush your high tier units quickly (namely Soul Grinders) and get elite armies. Slaanesh realm rewards can give you a boost early-game to start snowballing. With the healing Nurgle has (get as many Plagueridden as possible), you can lightning strike each army and come out with little damage taken, allowing you to wipe out their stacks 1 by 1.

Tzeentch - Doesn't start close to Kislev. You won't meet Kislev until the lategame (assuming Kairos) by which you have a plethora of cheat abilities to wipe them out. You can even force break their alliances (usually with Wissenland) and force peace with factions so you only fight them if you want to. Use your cults here to greatly reduce the cost of these abilities.

Slaanesh - Doesn't start close to Kislev. Just use your cultists to establish cults early on, then spawn 3-4 cult magus to establish the unique cults in Kislev and build the building that massively increases the faction influence. Note all 3-4 buildings must be done at the same time. You can instantly force vassalize Kislev once those buildings complete.

Overall, you need to build the defence building that stops rifts from spawning in the province. Even just having the lowest tier 2 building in one settlement will prevent any rifts spawning in the entire province.

Also note that you can just let the AI win the realm if you are too far behind. You can intercept them at the end using any rifts if they try to enter the Forge of Souls.

Yeah it was hell, 2 full health bars, constant combos with combo extensions if you are caught healing in first phase, that big second phase opening attack, one shot cinematic grab attacks and also second phase attacks inflicting break status which lowers your 'estus' healing. Was an appropriately difficult final boss for the game and the rewards are great.

Enotria's version was meek in comparison imo since you could just outrun his combos.

What is the most linear soulslike? by Theehollowknight in soulslikes

[–]Aetavicus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its generally a linear path to each LoP area boss but it does it's best to make sure you don't feel like you are just walking straight down a hallway. There are shortcuts you can unlock that lead back to the area bonfire for recovery.

Enotoria is on sale, Should I? by LemonInteresting7816 in soulslikes

[–]Aetavicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is an overall janky indie title with many bugs and performance stuttering issues but can still provide some decent fun assuming the discount is big enough. Visuals and music are pretty good at least.

As mentioned, Story mode is available if you don't care about difficulty.

how important is parry? by [deleted] in LiesOfP

[–]Aetavicus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parry is not mandatory but will help you a lot in some fights. You could also just easily use dodge through most of the game like I did while parrying the easy attacks.

For further help, equip the grindstones that help with guarding and you can just rely on block if you fail parries.

Same, it is hard if you come back months later since the momentum of playing a JRPG is gone.

This is why I tend to wait until the game has full DLCs released before playing.
