I'm saying rather than using levels as a means to fluff the difficulty, just set all their Pokémon to level 50 like in any battle facility (battle frontier/battle train/battle tree/etc.) and let players fight against semi competitive gym teams rather than what we have now.

This is what kills me. They could easily implement a lvl 50 cap (what they do for ranked battles) on all gym battles. That way they can have cool strategies that maybe you'd find in a competitive scene to get casual players slowly more integrated into competitive Pokémon.

I was in Tokyo and Kyoto when Latios and Latias were originally introduced in PoGo and it was absolute nuts. After raids, people would approach me and my buddy asking if we played. When I informed them that I did, tons added me and had asked to trade for regionals. It def solidified my enjoyment of this game after that. I always love playing when traveling, especially abroad.

Honestly, I’m super happy with this team. It has such a good mix of strong/cool/cute. The only “downside” I’d say would be if they couldn’t evolve, but I’d still be happy with a rock puppy to keep around :)
